Stryper Frontman’s Wife Passes Away
March 6, 2009 by Scott
When I was like 11 years old I had a guilty pleasure and it was Yellow and Black. Yeah, you guessed it; Stryper. Gimme a break, I was young. There was just something cool about these guys back then. To Hell With The Devil had just come out and the single Honestly was a kick ass ballad. Michael Sweet actually wrote that song for his wife, Kyle Sweet, whom he had met the year prior when she was hired to do make-up for the bands first video.
Kyle has apparently been fighting ovarian cancer since February 2007. Michael and Kyle have been married since 1986 and have two children together. Kyle passed away yesterday, March 5th, 2009 at 52 years old.

It was my guilty pleasure too….they had some good songs, I lost them when they adapted a heavier image…. I wish the Sweet family a lot of strength.
Wasn’t ever really a big fan. Nonetheless it is a terrible thing to have your spouse pass away. RIP Kyle. Cancer is a terrible, ugly disease. My wife has been battling cancer for just about a year now and my firsthand experiences with this disease have been horrible.
This was the first and last album I have had or listened to. After this album I never really never heard much more about them and I started to get in to, well, better music.
I’m very sorry to hear that Alec. I wish the best for you and your wife.
@Scott….Thanks….for now everything is good but all that could change instantly. For now I just enjoy every moment I have with her.
