Slipknot Footage from Jimmy Kimmel Live
Last night (Oct. 30), Slipknot performed their song “Snuff” from All Hope Is Gone on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I’m glad that the late night shows are starting to showcase metal acts, and this one actually sounds almost decent for once.
Check it out below:
Slipknot Sulfur Video
You know, I’m feeling very under-stimulated by Slipknot videos as of late. Remember the amazing videos for Wait And Bleed, Iowa’s Left Behind and Vol. 3’s Duality? Well this ain’t it. It just doesn’t have the same effect those videos had one me. Of course the entire album doesn’t have the same effect the earlier releases had on me either. Maybe I’m just getting old and have seen much better videos as of late. Maybe I’m just growing out of this band. Hell, I don’t know. My metal preferences have shot in all sorts of different directions in the past …read more
Slipknot Sulfur Video Teaser
April 16, 2009 by Scott
Sulfer is one of those songs off of All Hope Is Gone that I really have mixed feelings about. On one hand I kind of like it but there are times that I really hate it. It kind of has a self-titled/Iowa feel to it and then goes for the Stone Sour thing during the chorus. The fact that it actually has a halfway decent solo in it is one thing that holds it together. I do know that it’s one of the very small handful of songs that are actually listen-able on the album. I’m going to give this …read more
Shawn Crahan Making More Shitty Videos
April 13, 2009 by Scott
Blabbermouth reports that Slipknot’s Shawn Crahan announced via his twitter that he’s editing video for a DVD for the anniversary of Slipknot’s 10 year release…or something like that.
Also working on the special ten year package for Slipknot today as well! I have been editing a DVD together. Wait until you see this stuff!!
I kind of dig some of Shawn’s photography, just because it’s so abstract and out of the norm. However, Inside The 9 was terrible in my opinion. It wasn’t so much the live and behind the scenes footage, because I always like that kind of stuff. …read more
Reviewing Reviews Of 2008
December 28, 2008 by Scott
Looking back at some of my reviews of 2008 I can’t help but express how much I hate doing reviews sometimes. Sometimes you get excited for a newly released cd and love it for the first couple listens. Some are great cds with good sound but then later on you read what others stated in their reviews and second guess your own opinion. Some are great at the first listen but don’t hold a lasting effect that a good cd needs in order to make it a truly good release. Some take some time to sink in before you …read more
Slipknot: All Hope Is…Gold
December 19, 2008 by Scott
Slipknot’s August 26th release, All Hope Is Gone has been certified gold in the United States. ON December 9th the RIAA officially certified it gold after the record has sold almost 600k copies since it’s release.
Does this mean that this is a great record? I think I’ve stated my dislike for this record enough already, considering that I’ve loved every other album they’ve released so far. Some people say that a bands name can sell records as long as they have established themselves in the music business. I can totally agree with this statement even with the recent “flop” …read more

September 26, 2008 by Scott
Revolver Magazine has 10 different Slipknot covers for their latest issue. You can collect all ten individually through stores, or you can buy all ten with a limited edition outside cover for $39.99. If you’re a dedicated fan and collector of Slipknot memorabilia, then I would go for the all in one set.
“Sure to become a collector’s classic, Revolver’s November 2008 issue celebrates Slipknot’s crushing new album, All Hope Is Gone, and their provocative new look with 10 unique covers of the masked maniacs: one cover for each band member plus a shot of the Nine together, in …read more

The Game Outsells Slipknot…Who Really Cares
September 3, 2008 by Scott
According to the Billboard 200 charts The Game took the number one spot from Slipknot by only 13 albums. Some people are making a big deal out of this and I think it’s pretty cool just to see them that far up there. Seriously, who cares if the made No. 1 or No. 2., that’s pretty damn good for a metal band in the commercially dominant world pop and hip hop. It’s not often you see a metal band that high up on the billboard charts. But I think the game will drop by next Friday. You know what …read more
