All Shall Perish Launch Mobile Fan Line, Announce Winter Tour With Job For A Cowboy

In preparation for the release of their ferocious third full-length, Awaken The Dreamers, Oakland metalmeisters All Shall Perish have launched an interactive mobile fan club to support the legion of Dreamers eagerly awaiting the album’s release. By joining, fans get special content only available to members. What sort of stuff, you ask? Tons. An Awaken The Dreamers cellphone wallpaper, ringtones from the album, and text updates sent directly from the band about all things ASP. All fans need to do to join is text asp to 66937. I decided at the last minute to go take in the Thrash And Burn tour tonight. I mainly want to check out Arsis if I’m not to late, see All Shall Perish and whoever else may be there. Oakland deathcore demigods All Shall Perish are set to release the highly-anticipated follow up to 2006’s metal milestone The Price of Existence on September 16^th via Nuclear Blast Records. Entitled Awaken the Dreamers, the band’s third proper full-length further blurs the boundaries between technical grind, relentless death, and balls-to-the-wall metalcore. The furious twelve-track collection was once again recorded at Oakland’s Castle Ultimate with Zack Ohren (Decrepit Birth, Light This City). Drummer Matt Kuykendall is mighty proud of the result:

“We have never been a band to write the same record twice and we have never enjoyed records that are 1 single and 11 worse versions of the same song. This record is the most diverse thing we have done to date. Every song is different and brings something new to the overall experience of the CD. When you look back to all the classic records of our time, they are full of all kinds of different songs. Vulgar Display of Power just wouldn’t be the same without ‘This Love’ and ‘Hollow’. Our record is a breath of fresh air in a scene that is turning stale.”  

Over the past month, the band has posted a handful of new songs on their Myspace page, but you can get a free download of the album’s punishing title-track right here. Its barreling drums and spinwheel guitars oughta tide you over until the band’s headlining tour later this year.

There is a new Ozzy impersonator on the TV show America’s Got Talent. It was such a convincing resemblance that Sharon Osbourne wanted him to pull down his pants so she could make sure it wasn’t really Ozzy, but then she remembered that she was wearing Ozzy pants so it could not have been him.

The Dio-era Black Sabbath: Rules Of Hell box set has sold just over 2600 copies in it’s first week. Not too shabby.

Christian Metalcore band War Of Ages also sold around 2600 copies or Arise And Conquer in it’s first week. That’s pretty good for the first week sales of a lesser known band of that genre. I bought a copy last week. I dig it. It’s not anything epic, but it’s a good metalcore album.

The ‘Nuge will be a special guest on Chris Angel Mindfreak. Chris is going to attempt to change Ted’s redneck ways…ok, Teddy’s going to shoot an arrow from a crossbow at Chris Angel and Chris is going to try to catch it. Whoop-dee-friggin’ doo! I hope he fails…but we know he won’t because he’s such a super-dooper magical dude.

Motley Crue are supposed to make another ‘Important’ announcement in L.A. at noon tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas what it is?

Andreas Kisser will release his solo album entitle Hubris I & II on October 6th via Mascot Records. I’m eager to hear what that’s going to sound like. I’ve always like Andreas even post Max-Sepultura.

I used to love heading down to our local spot to sift through the new imports or albums from some small label I had never heard of. In the days before the internet the only way to find out about new underground bands was either a cool neighbor an older brother or the local independent record store. Luckily I had both and it lead to a record collection I am still very proud of. I still love that feeling of walking into a great independent store and having no idea what I might find. It’s like a treasure hunt. hahaha”

“After The Big Booty Business tour All Shall Perish will find itself writing its third full length album on Nuclear Blast Records. We are looking to have it out by next August/September. Also in the works is a small Australian tour this December!

Can you spill any details about the new album? Will you be using 7 string guitars again?

Yes, we plan to use 7 string guitars in all of our works. We find it necessary to have the increased flexibility to hit those really low notes, as well as have the extra string to do some insane argeggio work.

Who knows what surprises are in store on the next album, you’ll just have to wait and see! I will promise you this though, we don’t plan on putting out the same album over and over again!”
