Arsis’ James Malone Comes Clean In Noisecreep Exclusive
April 6, 2009 by Scott
James Malone released a press release a couple of weeks ago when he announced that he had a health problem that had a lot to do with moderation. He mentioned that he lost and ungodly amount of weight in a short period of time. Most people to include myself suspected drugs. I suspected meth as it’s a huge epidemic everywhere and often musicians get tied up in to it. Others suspected cocaine. What I really didn’t suspect was what he revealed in in an exclusive interview with Noisecreep.com’s Carlos Ramirez. Here is just a sliver of the interview, but …read more
Arsis Drummer Returns…Nope Not That One
March 30, 2009 by Scott
Blabbermouth reports that co-founding member and original drummer Mike Van Dyne has returned to Arsis. Here are a few short excerpts of what both Van Dyne and Jim Malone had to say about his return.
“I can’t say how excited I am to be working Mike Van Dyne again; ARSIS would have never existed in the first place had it not been for him and his motivation. It’s very hard to find people to work with that you can connect both as musicians and as friends. Mike has always been both of these.” said Jim Malone.
Arsis’ James Malone: "moderation is a concept that I am not familiar with"
March 19, 2009 by Scott
Arsis’ James Malone has issued the following statement in regards to dropping off of the upcoming Exhumed To Consume 2 tour with Carcass.
“I owe more than a few people an apology at this time.”
“Over the past few months, Arsis has had to drop off two tours and the fault lies on my shoulders. Those who know me know that moderation is a concept that I am not familiar with. Ever since my late teens, I have moved from one self-destructive behavior to another and it has finally taken its toll on my body and mind. I seem to take …read more
Arsis Forced To Cancel Tour With Carcass
March 8, 2009 by Scott
Every time I listen to We Are The Nightmare, I ask myself why I don’t listen to this album more. The album is amazing but I always seem to forget about it somehow.
We all know that Arsis is the James Malone band. He’s the only original member and many member, even in the last year have either quit or have been “Let go”. Some say they’re leaving to finish their college degree, while other site musical differences and/or clash of personality. It kind of makes you wonder how difficult James Malone is to work with. You never really …read more

2008…A Cursed/Blessed Year In Metal
December 31, 2008 by Scott
Even though we saw some great shows and amazing albums in 2008, we’ve also seen our share of craziness. I’ve compiled a list of some crazy things that have happened this year that I can think of off the top of my head.
Byzantine breaks up…3 days after they release Oblivion Beckons.
Light This City break up before releasing the last record.
Arsis changes members more than their underwear.
The Black Dahlia Murder lose a guitarist…steals one from Arsis.
Phil Demmel of Machine Head passes out twice on stage.
DJ Sid from Slipknot breaks both of his feet…keeps on trucking.
Joey Jordison breaks an ankle, cancels UK …read more
Old Arsis Guitarist = New Black Dahlia Murder Guitarist
December 19, 2008 by Scott
Former Arsis guitarist Ryan Knight will be the replacement for recently departed Black Dahlia Murder guitarist John Kempainen. I’ve only recently come to be a fan of both of these bands in the past year and I think he will bprobably be a great fit in The Black Dahlia Murder. Trevor Strnad recently revealed this news in an interview with Hardtime.ca this past Wednesday. They were also involved in an accident that same day when their trailer overturned and their van ended up in a ditch.
