Just a quick note…It’s no secret that I get some of my news from Blabbermouth and sometimes I get the same press that Blabbermouth gets. Sometimes I get it up before they do and sometimes not. It’s also no secret that before Death Magnetic was released that there was a substantial amount of Metallica news here as well, but I think I’ve seen more crap Metallica news over there lately that just seems so irrelevant. It’s like ever time someone in Metallica sneezes or takes a crap, someone is there to send the news to Blabbermouth. I’m not taking anything away from them, cause it’s probably one of the best places to read metal news in real-time….if you don’t read the comments. I’m just sayin’…

Advice To Rock And Metal Artists about Blabbermouth

Just a quick bit to put out there. As if Rock or Metal Artists need advice from a nobody like myself, I’m going to mention this anyway.

If you don’t like the posts and comments about you, your band or your friends on Blabbermouth, don’t mention it on a radio show or in an interview. If you ridicule or badmouth the people that comment on Blabbermouth then your going to get backlash. And if you say that it “Doesn’t effect you” then you look like a fool because it obviously does. Especially when you make comments that they should get a life.

Yes, there are a million idiots on Blabbermouth. But there are a lot of people with good things to say and support you. Sometimes they comment just to comment and get a laugh or a rise out of others and sometimes they are just speaking the truth and saying what other people want to, but don’t.

Blabbermouthhas a lot of good information in real time and sometimes a lot of totally irrelevant info as well. It’s a great resource for fans and artists alike. Sometimes you just have to ignore the fools and not egg them on.

Machinehead’s Robb Flynn On The Grammys, “Should We Have Won?…Controversially, Yes.”

Robb Flynn gave an update on Machinehead and the Grammys on Blabbermouth. Here is a short excerpt. Check out the full update at blabbermouth. This is a pretty good update from Flynn and he has some good stuff to say about the Grammy, Slayer and the direction Machinehead is going. The link is at the bottom.

“Five minutes after the ‘Best Metal Performance’ nomination was given to SLAYER, I got a text from Kerry King (who didn’t attend) that said, ‘I’ll take the Grammy… but I have no problem telling you that you guys should have won!’ Very cool and VERY classy of him. He didn’t have to say that, but he did, and it was a very big thing to do. I give him all the respect in the world for doing it.”

Metal Church Update

Blabbermouth has posted an update on Metal Church from their frontman, Ronnie Munroe. Here are a few short excerpts with a link at the bottom to read the update.

“As we start recording the new songs, I want to take a moment and answer a few questions that we get over and over. The first one is when people ask if METAL CHURCH is a Christian band. “

“The name started when Kurdt [Vanderhoof] lived in an apartment in San Francisco and everyone came there to play. They nicknamed it the ‘Metal Church’ and that is where the band name came from. We are not secular, although METAL CHURCH has always tried to write thought-provoking lyrics about life, money, war, politics etc. Things we can all identify with.”

“I hear over and over METAL CHURCH being one of the pioneers of thrash. Mr. Kurdt Vanderhoof is a musical genius, in my opinion, but the label I want to give him is that he is a great guy and good friend.

“It is is our nature to resist change and METAL CHURCH has had its share of change. METAL CHURCH has also stayed true and as I see the younger fans banging their heads to our music just like I did at their age and I know all is good in this world. Metal is here to stay and is being kept alive by the fans and now by their children. How f***ing cool is that!!!!!! Being a parent myself, I know it is hard to find things to have in common with your teenager but this music has built that bridge.

If This Was Blabbermouth’s Period, They’d Be Pregnant.

Ok, So you guys remember when I commented on the birth control pill commercial using the Twisted Sister song, “We’re Not Gonna Take It”. Well, Blabbermouth.com has finally caught on. I get a lot of news and stuff from Blabbermouth but this is like month and a half later. Maybe you guys should stop reporting on crappy band that sounds the same as the last and watch some TV once in awhile.

While I love blabbermouth, they seem to have readers that want to comment on everything no matter how stupid it seems. They get 40 comments saying how old news is. People there comment just for the sake of commenting. Some are hilarious though and some take shit way too serious, hence some of the comments on the TS birth control article where it goes into the anal sex stuff…my god some of these people have nothing better to do. I hope this blog never ges to that point. I’ll enjoy the page hits but I’ll spend all day moderating. Read the blabbermouth article about it here.

Makes me feel good that I got this out long before they did…even though is is about birth control.
