Chimaira’s Infection Spreading Like The Swine Flu
April 29, 2009 by Scott
Chimaira’s The Infection has done pretty well in it’s first week, selling around 15k copies and landing on the Billboard 200 charts at #30.
Sadly, Daath only sold around 1300 copies of The Concealers while lesser known band, Seventh Void did pretty well, selling about 1800.
Black Label Society did well with their Best of album, Skullage, selling about 4600 copies.
I really hope that Daath album catches on and takes off. I hate to beat off a dead horse, but this album is awesome.

Zakk Wylde Pisses Me Off
April 25, 2009 by Scott
Perhaps that’s a bit of a misleading title, but I bought the new Black Label Society Skullage CD because I like the mellow songs, but it didn’t say neither explicit lyrics or clean and the songs that are explicit are edited. That kind of pissed me off. If it’s clean, clearly mark the god damned cd and say it’s clean regardless of whether it has the black and white warning or not.
The thing that pisses me off about Zakk Wylde is that it seems that he feels a need to make it known that he’s a great guitar player. …read more
New Megadeth May Be Mega-thrashy
February 5, 2009 by Scott
You’re probably wondering why I have a picture of David Lee Roth up here. I’ll get to that in a minute.
I’m anticipating this new Megadeth Album more than I was United Abominations. Why? Because when I waited for The System Has Failed I expected a great album because it had Chris Poland on it and I thought it would reach back in to the Peace Sells days. I was wrong as were most people that were expecting the same thing. I really didn’t like ‘System and found it really hard to listen to.
United Abomination was a breath of fresh …read more
Zakk Wylde’s Father Passes Away
Zakk Wylde’s father, who has been fighting cancer for some time now, has passed away due to complications with his battle. Zakk published the following statement on his official website.
“My father, Jerome F. Wielandt, who served as an inspiration to me and my music throughout my life, has passed away from cancer. His influence on my life and the life of others has motivated me in ways that have been both unexpected and profound.”
“In lieu of flowers, our family would like donations made in Jerome F. Wielandt’s memory to:

Zakk Wylde Donates Signature Camo’ Bullseye Guitar To Marines In Iraq
This kind of touched base because I’m a Marine Veteran (Not a war vet) and I thought this was really cool of Zakk Wylde to do.
There is an organization started by a former U.S. Marine Paul Hickman, to donate and send guitars to the U.S. Troops over in Iraq and Afghanistan as a moral booster. When you’re far from home like that, the smallest things make a huge difference. Zakk Wylde has always been a “For the troops” kind of guys, so when Guitars For Grunts founder contacted him to autograph a guitar for the troops, Zakk Wylde offered …read more

January 10, 2008 by Scott
Once again it’s theme day at the b5 Media channel and todays theme is Resolutions made by Bands/Stars that will probably be broken. I contacted a publicist for each of the following Bands and/or Stars and asked them if their clients had made any new years resolutions. Here is was they told me!

5 Bands To Nurse A New Years Hangover
After the typical New Years ritual and the aftermath the next day there is just no way I can listen to the blast beats and distorted guitars of Metal. I have to slow things down for a few hours and soften it up a bit. Here is a list of some bands I like to listen to when I’m hungover.
1. Pink Floyd- The Division Bell has got to be by far the best music to listen to when you want to relax and feel better. Wish You Were Here and Dark Side Of The Moon are great too.
