The thing that always turned me off about black metal was the face, oops, I’m sorry, “corpse” paint. Once I got past that I started to like a lot of what I heard. I still find the corpse paint kind of silly but I totally understand that it’s part of genre sort of like swooped hair and skinny pants are part of emo. Still don’t like emo music, though. Bravewords.com reports that Black Metallers Immortal are about to start recording a new album. I’m not really one to look forward to new Black Metal on a regular basis but this is actually one of the bands that got me into liking some black metal. They report that Immortal’s management has issued the following:
“The band has started to record the upcoming album! They will be working in both Grieghallen and Abyss studios this time.”

But I’ve been learning to love it. First it was Dimmu Borgir that I kind of got in to and then Immortal. Then I started getting in to some Blackened Death Metal, which is like the best of both worlds if done right. My latest addition is Aeternus’ Beyond The Wandering Moon. Polish Black?/Extreme?/Death? metal (I don’t know what the hell subgenre everyone’s putting them in these days) band Behemoth keeps is simple in their new video "Inner Sanctum".
