Black Tide And The Answer Contest Winners
I only had 4 entries for the Black tide 7″ Road Warriors and every one of them is correct. Unfortunately I can only pick one. Each person that entered, I commend you for either having the knowledge to answer those questions or using the internet to find the answers. To pick the winner I used a common 6 sided die and assigned each person a number in the order that they answered. 5 and 6 were re-rolls. With a roll of the die the winner was picked as Jakes_Daddy@#######.net.
That contest was easy to pick. The Answer contest was a bit harder. You guys all had great entries that had me laughing pretty good. Luckily I could pick 4 people for this contest. One grand prize winner and 3 winners of the Everyday Demons Album.

Win A Black Tide Road Warrior 7" Vinyl
April 8, 2009 by Scott
A lot of contests going on as of late. Here is a chance to win a 7″ vinyl from Black Tide, entitled Road Warriors. It contains two tracks, Warriors Of Time (Live) and their cover of Iron Maiden’s Prowler that has never been released.
Here is how you can win: Since the 7″ has an Iron Maiden “Cover” on it, let’s do this: Artist Derek Riggs has done countless artwork for Iron Maiden over the years. From tour flyers to posters to album covers, he’s been responsible for bringing Eddie to life in so many different ways. On every piece of his work he leaves his mark. For that average Maiden fan, we know what it looks like and have spent much time looking for it in every piece of Derek’s work. So here is a 3 part question that you must answer all of them correctly to win the prize:
Where on each of these covers can you find Derek Riggs’ “trademark symbol”?
1. Iron Maiden’s 1980 single cover for Sanctuary.
2 Iron Maidens 1980 single cover for Running Free.
3. Iron Maiden’s debut, self titled album cover.
Email the answers to metalmartyr.com@gmail.com with Black Tide in the subject line. Make sure there is no links in the email body or else Gmail may filter it as spam. If there are multiple entries that get right I will pick a winner at random. Good luck.
Contest limited to U.S. and Canadian residents only. Contest ends on April 30th.

Black Tide’s Zakk Sandler:"I think there will be songs in the next album that will have real meaning behind them."
Pamela Parosky from MetalUnderground.com recently interviewed Zakk Sandler from http://www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=43561. Zakk seems to be the most open personality in the band. I’ve seen them twice as support acts and he’s the one that gets the crowd going and the one that sticks around afterwards to talk to fans.
In the interview he talked about the writing process for the next album, in brief.

Black Tide Launch "Warriors Of Time" Animated Series
October 30, 2008 by Scott
Black Tide has just launched their Warriors of Time Animation series. The six part series is explained best by the band themselves, “Our Hero, known as The Bastard, is a living embodiment of metal music. We pit him against a robotic legion whose influence spans all of time and space. The song speaks to the urge in everyone to rage and rock out against all outside expectations. It is a call to arms against a mundane existence, and the Bastard is always there to answer in force, slaughtering the robot conformist authority for the sake of youth, rebellion, and the undying spirit of true metal.” Check out the first episode below.

Jesus, I go mow my lawn for a few hours and all hell breaks loose in Metal news. I hate mowing my lawn. Mainly because I have about an acre to mow and I have to push mow it. It’s good exercise though and hopefully it’s the last time I’ll have to mow it this year. The only really good thing about it is that I get to listen to a few cds all the way through. But seriously…nobody wants to hear me bitch about mowing the lawn.
Hatebreed has made available the full 22 song set from their Detroit filming session from the Live Dominance DVD. You can download it from iTunes for $9.99 HERE.
If you’re going to check out Exodus in Seattle on November 12th, plan on hearing the entire Bonded By Blood album played. According to the venue, El Corazon’s website, the band plans on playing the album in full during this tour date.
Daron Malakian doesn’t feel like his heart is in to touring right now, so if you had tickets to see Scars On Broadway or to watch them on Jimmy Kimmel Live, then you better get a refund and plan on watching something else because no plans to reschedule are in the works yet.
More Mayhem Fest | Black Tide
August 3, 2008 by Scott
Alright. Vacation is over and I’m back home. Aside from going to the biggest concert I’ve been to in over 10 years, the rest of the weekend was a great time as well as the family and I went to the beach, the zoo, the aquarium and a Naval museum (No it’s not a museum of belly buttons). Just a word of advice for anyone planning a vacation and looking for hotels online. Check out Hotwire.com. I got a room to sleep myself, my wife and kids in Norfolk, VA for 88 bucks a night at a Sheraton. It’s a 3 star hotel according to Hotwire, but it’s nice and that’s about 100 bucks less a night than you wood pay at expedia.com. Anyway, enough about that. Let’s get to some concert coverage.

Black Tide Free Concert At The Whiskey In L.A.
May 8, 2008 by Scott
May 15th at The Whiskey in Los Angeles Black Tide will be playing a free show. Everyone is invited and doors open at 7pm. The free show will be played during the release part for “renegade” writer James Frey’s new book “Bright Shiny Morning“.
You might remember James Frey. He was the guy who wrote the book A Million Little Pieces that was supposed to be an autobiography about how bad his life had been and Oprah of all people revealed that it was a bunch of B-S and exaggerations. So he’s got a new book coming out….wooohOo! BFD. But it’s a free Black Tide show, so check it out if you have the means.
