Swedish death metal super-group (I hate that title) Bloodbath has made a statement that due to Mikael Akerfeldt and Matin Axenrot being occupied with Opeth, there will be no appearances with Bloodbath at this summer’s European metal festivals.
“Unfortunately, we’ve to announce that BLOODBATH must pass this summer’s festival season. Mike [Mikael Åkerfeldt] and Axe [Martin 'Axe' Axenrot] have both confirmed they’re too occupied with OPETH and cannot commit to any live shows with BLOODBATH until 2010, the earliest. With Bloodbath’s new album comes new merch. One of those pieces of merch was a T-shirt that debuted around the 6th of November. The T-shirt titled “Mock The Cross“, the name of the 4th track from The Fathomless Mastery. Yeah, I’ve been drinking a bit tonight. But not that much, I just thought this album sounded funny that way. Seriously, there is nothing funny about Bloodbath’s latest release The Fathomless Mastery. Aside from Opeth, Mikael Akerfeldt does a sick job in Bloodbath. I think he goes more balls out with the death metal vocals in Bloodbath because he doesn’t have to save his voice for the slower parts like in Opeth. Regardless Bloodbath are an amazing collaboration.

Holy crap, there is so much stuff coming out today. On a side note, before I get started the new (and last from the bad) Light This City Stormchaser will be coming on November 11th. I got a review copy the other day and I’m really diggin it. I’ll write up a review later in the week. AC/DC has sold over 3/4 of a million copies of their new album Black Ice in the U.S. alone and over 5 million copies worldwide. That’s some crazy numbers. It’s a cool rock album if you dig AC/DC.
