Lamb Of Godsaid no to an offer from Metallica to be an opening act for them following the release of their upcoming Death Magnetic. Lamb Of God said it was due to them getting back in the studio to record their next album. Perhaps they had this time scheduled and don’t want to or can’t reschedule with the same producer or maybe it’s just because they think they are better than being an opening act even for Metallica. I think it’s the latter and I would agree with them. Look for their follow up to 2006’s Sacrament sometime in ‘09.

Word has it that Phil Anselmo is writing an autobiography. Seem this guy has a lot more time to do constructive things now that he’s sober. It’s amazing what you accomplish when your not sleeping in your own vomit. Good for you, Phil….but you’re still a tool.

Green Jello…jelly, jello..whatever. Did you know they were on a “Come Back” tour? Me neither, but apparently they have postponed the last two weeks of it to get in the studio to record an album that they will not release through a label but will sell at shows and will be available for purchase directly through their website. They said record labels take too much money for doing so little and they can profit and fund what they do much better by selling it themselves. This is totally understandable. Comeback tour?…seriously?

Russia doesn’t like emo kids any more than the rest of us. In an attempt to clean up society and be a cooler country, Russia is trying to pass a bill to ban kids from wearing emo an goth attire in public. Can you blame them? This will also cut down on the serious vision problems most emo kids have due to one eye being used much less than the other, cutting optometry cost through out the country and hairdressers can now charge full price for a full haircut.

Arsis are beating off to a new drummer…wait, that’s not right. Arsis HAVE a new drummer. Sorry, read the article wrong. Shawn Priestwill be filling the empty thrown and might become a permanent member.

July 25th marked Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All25th Anniversary. Damn I’m feeling old right about now. Hard to believe it’s been that long.

Mötley Crüe, the world’s most notorious rock band, has revealed that this summer they, along with Buckcherry, Papa Roach, SIXX:AM and Trapt, will head out on the road for what will undoubtedly be the hottest ticket of the year for rock fans – “Crüe Fest ‘08.” The tour, produced by Live Nation, kicks off on July 1st and will hit over 40 major North American and Canadian cities by the end of August. Fans that can’t wait for this weekend’s online sale can get their tickets early by going to TheRockvine.com.

On-site activities will include a 2nd “Stage” presented by Rock Band where fans attending the show can play the part of “rock star” while playing the game. A special Crüe Fest CD featuring tracks from all of the bands on the tour will be available exclusively at Best Buy beginning June 17th.

Mötley Crüe also announced the upcoming release of Saints of Los Angeles, their first new studio album recorded with all of the original band members in over a decade, hitting stores on June 17th. The band premiered the brand new single, “Saints Of Los Angeles,” at today’s press conference in LA. The song includes backing vocals by Josh Todd (Buckcherry), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), James Michael (SIXX:A.M.) and Chris Brown (Trapt). In an industry first, the song was also made available as a download for the Rock Band video game simultaneously with its single release.

Lyrically, the new album follows the story of the band’s NY Times best-selling memoir The Dirt, a no-holds-barred tell-all that features every gritty detail of the band’s exploits as one of the world’s biggest rock bands.
