March 12, 2009 by Scott
There have been some great metal albums released so far this year. I’m going to try to name as many as I can remember off of the top of my head that have already been released, so if I missed your favorite, please add it in there. The Poll is after the fold in case it get’s too long as we move forward in to the year.
Cannibal Corpse Successful In The Charts…Again.
Cannibal Corpse have landed themselves on the Billboard 200 again with Evisceration Plague. People act surprised that Cannibal Corpse did well on the charts and they obviously are not aware that Cannibal Corpse has been a successful seller in the Death Metal Genre for a long time. They are one of the top selling Death Metal bands of all time. What is actually surprising is that in this age of increased illegal downloading and the economy in peril, they are selling more with each album. In fact they sold about 1500 more copies than 2006’s Kill, with Evisceration Plague …read more

Cannibal Corpse: Then And Now
January 29, 2009 by Scott
I’ve mentioned before that I was more of a fan of the old school Cannibal Corpse with Chris Barnes. The fact is that I obviously haven’t heard enough new Cannibal Corpse with George Fisher. I’ve heard couple of songs here and there but I haven’t sat down and listened to a full album of Cannibal Corpse since the 90’s. Oh how naive I can be!
Cannibal Corpse, The Faceless, Neuraxis Tour North America
Before Cannibal Corpse tour on Rockstar Mayhem Fest this year, they will be trekking through North America with Neuraxis, The Faceless and Obscura. What I love when I see tour dates posted is everyone that freaks out because a band isn’t coming to to their city of choice. I live in NC,ok. Granted we get some pretty cool shows in Raleigh, I have to travel a couple of hours to see a lot of bands I like. Sometimes that’s what you have to do and the dedicated people do it. Please spare me the “WTF? No East Bumfuque dates?”. …read more

October 24, 2008 by Scott
IGN.Com, a video game site recently published a post on the 10 Best Death Metal Singers and I must say that it is a hell of a list. I couldn’t agree more with it. Take a peak at the list below, but visit the site to get their insight on them, essential albums and a song/video from the band. My 10 picks aren’t much different, but when you put together a list like they did, it’s tough not to pick some of the same ones.
Frank Mullen – Suffocation
Lars Göran Petrov – Entombed
Paul Pavlovich – Assük
David Vincent – Morbid Angel

September 19, 2008 by Scott
Welcome to the first Metal Martyr Video Blast Zone (yeah, I know it’s kind of cheezy, but I had to call it something). I’ve got 10 videos lined up. Some old, some older and some fairly new. I’m going to try to have a theme for these video blocks every week. No theme this week…just cool videos.
