Blackenedfest with Black Metal legends Mayhem is set to kick off on may 21st to June 15th. Swedish Black Metal veterans Marduk will be there as well along with Death-grinders Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation. Opening is Prosthetic records blackened death metal prospects Withered.

Withered come out of Atlanta Georgia and they are not an easy band to listen to at first, it’s an acquired taste, but once you get used to their sound, it’s hard not to listen and have a love/hate relationship with their music. Just when you thought a Norwegian Black Metal band would be afraid of nothing, Mayhem have been forced to cancel tour dates due to the outbreak and potential pandemic of swine flu.
All I can say is that the bird flu didn’t stop Watain from butchering pigeons and smearing the blood on themselves for a show.
Word is that they are going to try to reschedule. In the meantime they will still be headlining Blackened Fest with Marduk, Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation.
 

CEPHALIC CARNAGE kick-off their month-long European tour alongside HATE ETERNAL and SKELETONWITCH today in Wurzburg, Germany. This tour also includes DEADBORN in the mainland and CEPHALIC label-mates MAN MUST DIE in the U.K.
CEPHALIC CARNAGE has also announced a number of festival appearances for August. The Denver avant-grinders are confirmed for Hellfest, Summer Breeze Open Air, Brutal Assault Fest, Mountains of Death, and more.
