Skeletonwitch Return From Tour, Gearing Up For Europe

Ohio’s SKELETONWITCH have just wrapped up their North American fall touring, which had them on the road since September, supporting CHILDREN OF BODOM and then THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER. The band has a few down days before they head over to Europe to co-headline with TOXIC HOLOCAUST and GOATWHORE. They’re supporting their second full length for PROSTHETIC RECORDS, “Breathing the Fire,” which came out on October 13 and landed at number 151 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, number 2 on the Heat Seekers Chart and number 21 on the Hard Music Chart.

Skeletonwitch To Appear at NYC’s “Blackened Music Series”
Ohio’s SKELETONWITCH will bring their brand of “blackened thrash” to NYC’s acclaimed “BLACKENED MUSIC SERIES” on November 14. The show will take place at Brooklyn’s Union Pool and will also feature Relapse’s BLACK ANVIL and is part of “THE BLACKENED WEEKEND,” which will also feature appearances from RWAKE, KRALLICE, SHRINEBUILDER and more. Previous installments in the series have featured the likes of REPULSION, PIG DESTROYER, BRUTAL TRUTH, SUNN, EARTH and PELICAN.

Lazarus A.D. Thrash with Japanese Fans at Loud Park
Wisconsin’s Lazarus A.D. recently returned from their first ever trip overseas to Japan’s Loud Park festival in Tokyo. Needless to say, the band had an amazing experience. They were the third band to play on the Big Rock stage on October 18th. The stage was headlined by Slayer and also featured Children Of Bodom, Hatebreed and Papa Roach among others. Lazarus A.D. sampled some foreign cuisine, was surprised by eager fans waiting at their hotel room door to sign autographs and take photos, and played to over 10,000 people. Skeletonwitch’s “Breathing the Fire” Scorches The Billboard Charts

SKELETONWITCH’s new effort, “Breathing The Fire,” sold 3,500 copies in its first week of release, landing at number #151 on the Billboard Top 200 and #2 on the magazine’s Heatseekers Chart. The album was recorded in Seattle with acclaimed producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, High on Fire). The band spent the last month on the road with Children of Bodom and are now supporting The Black Dahlia Murder alongside Toxic Holocaust and labelmates Trap Them. They will then head to Europe for a co-headline tour with Toxic Holocaust and Goatwhore.

Skeletonwitch to Release “Breathing the Fire” Tuesday
SKELETONWITCH is almost ready to unleash their metal masterpiece Breathing the Fire on October 13th via Prosthetic Records. Breathing the Fire is the follow up to the band’s critically acclaimed album, Beyond the Permafrost (Prosthetic Records, 2007). The Athens, OH based band traveled to Seattle, WA to record with producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, High On Fire). The album was mastered by Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer.

Skeletonwitch Launch Studio Video and iTunes Preorder

Skeletonwitch have launched the first in a series of webisodes documenting the recording of their upcoming full length Breathing the Fire (October 13, Prosthetic Records) with producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, High On Fire, Toxic Holocaust). It can be viewed at prostheticrecords.com.
The band has also announced iTunes pre-order is now available for Breathing the Fire. The iTunes version includes an exclusive bonus track called, “Only No Rest for the Dead.” It can be ordered here.

The Black Dahlia Murder was all set to tour with Slipknot in the coming months. As many of you know, Slipknot had to cancel the remainder of their tour, due to an unnamed illness or accident involving drummer extraordinaire Joey Jordison. Because of this, The Black Dahlia Murder has also had to cancel these dates, and made the following statement regarding the cancellation:
