Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor tied the knot Friday in Las Vegas.

Corey Taylor wed Stephanie Luby at Vegas’s Palms Hotel, where the couple marched down the aisle to Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls”.

350 guests packed the hotel’s Pearl Concert Theater, where Camp Freddy’s Billy Morrison acted as minister.

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Talks Horror, Trinity of Terrors

In what is set to be the biggest, baddest and most gruesome convention to hit Las Vegas, Fangoria’s Trinity Of Terrors continues to add to the list of scream-worthy celebrities set to attend the three day event. The multi-media horror event which will take place Halloween weekend had previously announced guest appearances from the likes of John Waters (PINK FLAMINGOS, SEED OF CHUCKY) and Malcolm McDowell (A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, ROB ZOMBIE’S HALLOWEEN) and now the newly announced addition of Bruce Campbell (EVIL DEAD, ARMY OF DARKNESS). Also on the list of terrifying events will be the screening of over a dozen new films including the latest entry in the legendary zombie series from the godfather of modern horror, George A. Romero’s SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD.

Celebrity appearances, signings, screenings, vendors, exhibitors, panel discussions, special FX make-up applications, video gaming, tattooing, collectibles, special VIP parties and more will set the stage for a special Halloween night performance in the Pearl Concert Theater by multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning alternative metal masters, SLIPKNOT.

SLIPKNOT vocalist Corey Taylor, a self-described horror, comic and action figure geek will surely be walking the convention hall. Taylor states,

“I’m stoked! When I saw the list of the people that Fangoria was able to get for this, I was stoked out of my mind! We’ve got everybody from Richard Christy from Death to Tom Savini. We’ve got Malcolm McDowell! I am in geek heaven right now! … It’s something really special, and it’s something that’s never been done in Vegas. It’s hopefully going to be one of the biggest things that Fangoria’s ever done and we’ve ever done. We get to play on Halloween. It’s win-win all across the board.”

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor to Appear on Loveline Tonight

Fangoria has posted news that Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour) will be appearing on Loveline tonight to discuss the upcoming Fangoria Trinity of Terrors. Corey will be talking with Dr. Drew Pinsky and Stryker from 10pm to 12am PST, which may run at different times locally. If you want to listen online and uncensored, check it out here!

Slipknot Cancels Shows Through September

More Slipknot news. Slipknot cancelled their show at KISW’s Pain in the Grass in Seattle Saturday, due to a sudden illness that required drummer Joey Jordison to be hospitalized. No mention was made of exactly what the problem was, but Joey was expected to be ready for last night’s show at the Kennewick Toyota Center in Kennewick, WA. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Slipknot was forced to cancel last night’s performance also, and today has released the following statement:

“Slipknot’s shows in Seattle and Kennewick have been postponed and the remaining dates for September have been canceled due to illness. Please check with your local promoter on ticket refunds.”

No other details have been given at this time, and I hope that whatever is going on, Joey Jordison is ok. Slipknot has promised to make up for the canceled shows in the future. The video below shows frontman Corey Taylor making the announcement in Seattle, and he seems genuinely distressed and upset about not being able to perform. Let’s all keep Joey in our thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Corey Taylor Speaks to YoungMinds About His Past

Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour) recently spoke to the YoungMinds charity backstage at the Kerrang Awards. In his very heartfelt and sincere statement, he mentions some of the trauma of his youth and discusses his former drug abuse a bit. He then leaves off with a message for anyone out there that is going through rough times, feeling bad or just having a shitty day. Regardless of how you may feel about Slipknot, this is a powerful message for today’s young adults, and it’s nice to see a celebrity that still has the humanity to care about people.

In an age when stardom is all about image and shopping sprees, political views and wars over who’s dating who… Corey Taylor stands before a camera in quite possibly the world’s most hideous suit (which is awesome in itself) and shows that he is willing to use his celebrity status to help change lives for the better. Corey, you are truly a class act.

YoungMinds is a fantastic charity aimed at “improving the emotional well being and mental health of children and young people and empowering their parents and careers”.

Corey Taylor Hijacks a Chicago Radio Station

I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve seen this. Old news, but absolutely hilarious.

About six months ago, Corey Taylor (Stone Sour, Slipknot) was invited to Q101.1 in Chicago to guest DJ. They hooked up his iPod, and he completely took over programming for the next hour. I don’t want to ruin it for you by mentioning some of the hilarity that ensues, let’s just say that Corey has obviously practiced some of Michael Jackson’s dance moves.

Two key points… I want a t-shirt that says “I will punch you in the taint” now, and I have GOT to see Sandra Bullocks’ feet. Watch the video, you’ll understand.

ZZ Top, Steel Panther to Perform Two Shows Together in the UK

Legendary rockers ZZ Top have announced that they will be performing two upcoming UK shows with support by our beloved “glamcore” (I don’t know if I just made that word up, but I hope so) metal masters Steel Panther.

ZZ Top have maintained their original lineup for 40 years, and their experience shows in everything that they do. From their long string of superhits to their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and their incredible performance at this year’s Download Festival, ZZ Top is always ready to rock your face off.

Steel Panther, the band formally known as Metal Skool, will be releasing their album Feel the Steel on October 6th. Steel Panther have impressed countless fans with their hilarious antics and epic riffs, drawing the likes of Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour) and Scott Ian (Anthrax) to join them in a few of their soon to be released tracks.

Slipknot Reveales Tracklist of 10th Anniversary Box Set

Slipknot’s 10th anniversary release, which is now due out September 29, is going to include the original self titled album, several demo tracks and unreleased songs… 25 in all. Also included will be a DVD titled “Of the Sic: A Decade Come and Gone” loaded with behind the scenes and early live footage, created by Shawn “Clown” Crahan.

There will be a “Super Deluxe” version released, shaped like a safety deposit box with a t-shirt, a patch, collectible cards, a key chain, beanie and a note from singer Corey Taylor. There is no word yet on the prices of these releases or the availability of the “Super Deluxe” edition.

I’m going to withhold judgment on this release until I get my hands on it and check out the DVD. The CD tracklist is what I expected, it’s a commemorative disk to highlight 10 years of ass kicking, although I would like to have seen at least a couple brand new tracks on there to sweeten the pot a bit.
