Danzig – Mother

I’m pretty damned excited about seeing Danzig perform here in Austin on November 8th at the Fun Fun Fun Fest, so I just wanted to post the old video for “Mother”, so that we can all marvel at the hair greatness of this song. Enjoy.

Danzig Working On New Album. I Wait In Anticipation…Of Imminent Disappointment.

Danzig Working On New Album. I Wait In Anticipation…Of Imminent Disappointment.

In the early 90’s I started to get in to Danzig. I wasn’t a big fan, in fact I only had the debut, self titled release on cassette. It wasn’t until 1995 that I really started to get in to all the other albums, after a close friend let me listen. I was hooked and I quickly became a fan of Danzig, The Misfits and Samhain soon after.
In 1996 I, like many Danzig fans had a stupid look on my face when I played the new release at the time, Danzig 5: Blackacidevil. Blackacidevil was a hard, swift …read more

What Metal Band Would You Like to See Inducted In To The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

What Metal Band Would You Like to See Inducted In To The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Metallica are getting inducted in to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame this coming week. We get it, already. My question is; what metal band do you think should be inducted in the Rock & Roll hall Of Fame?
Off of the top of my head I can think of two bands that should get inducted, well before Metallica, such as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. There are other bands that I’d like to see get inducted…after the previously mentioned bands. I don’t want to see Dave Mustaine inducted under Metallica. He deserves to be inducted for …read more

Glenn Danzig Needs A Hug

I love the music of Glenn Danzig, whether it’s The Misfits, Samhain, Glenn Danzig or the Black Aria discs, although nothing after Danzig 4 get’s a much, if any rotation time on my iPod. Here is an interview by Eric Blair for the Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show. Someone please give this dude a hug and erase some of that hate from his heart.

Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe In "The Graves" Movie

Blabbermouth reported that Lamb Of God frontman, Randy Blythe is starring in a new horror movie called “The Graves“. He plays a character called Deacon Luke who is “an evil denizens of Skull City”.
According to Pennyblood.com where you can read about Randy’s roll:
The Graves centers around two sisters, played by Clare Grant and Jillian Murry, out for a final hoorah before one settles in at college across the country.  But stopping off to sight see in a creepy mining town soon becomes a nightmarish diversion for the ladies.

Video Blast Zone 10/3 Going Olde School

Video Blast Zone 10/3 Going Olde School

Ah, to be a teenager again and not have a care in the world. Except maybe what your parents are going to do to you for getting suspended for smoking on school grounds. Or maybe where you’re going to get gas money to get back and fourth from work after school for the rest of the week, after you blew your paycheck on CD’s/Tapes and cigarettes/pot or whatever. Back when a cd didn’t cost much more than 15 bucks, cigarettes were about $1.70 a pack, gas wasn’t much more than a buck a gallon and a dime-bag was a decent …read more

Is Rick Ruben Becoming A Brand Name?

Is Rick Ruben Becoming A Brand Name?

var iamInit = function() {try{initIamServingHandler(234,351,120212,”http://pis.picapp.com/IamProd/Resources/Css/css2.css”)}catch(ex){}}()
I was reading an article on Blabbermouth this morning about Rick Ruben. IN particular it was three of the members of Slipknot. Shawn Crahan, Jim Root and Corey Taylor all commented on working with rick and Corey was the only one that didn’t have a lot of good things to say about Ruben. Other artists have said that Rick is rarely in the studio to include most recently, Metallica. Corey Taylor said “And for me, if you’re going to produce something, you’re f*cking there. I don’t care who you are.”
This got me thinking about a few …read more

Gorgeous Frankenstein and No Misfits Reunion

Gorgeous Frankenstein and No Misfits Reunion

I’m a Misfits fan since the mid 90’s when a co-worker/friend of mine introduced me to them, but it wasn’t until I saw a live show with then vocalist, Michael Graves, before they put out American Psycho. They played most of the classics and I loved it. I say most of the classics because they are all classics…with exception of the new stuff. American Psycho had some really great songs but Famous Monsters sucked and Project 1950 was only ok.
Anyway, you probably know the story goes that Doyle left in 2000 and it was never really clear why. Since …read more

Revolver’s Graphic Violence

Revolver’s Graphic Violence

Revolver Magazine’s October issue had a segment called “Graphic Violence“. It featured album covers that were controversial due to graphic images of evil, death, sex, etc. They had some really good picks of some great albums. A few included are Pantera’s original concept for Far Beyond Driven, Nashville Pussy’s Let Them Eat Pussy album, Cannibal Corpse‘ Butchered At Birth as well as Deicide’s Once Upon The Cross. Some of them were not really graphic as to having a sexual or image of death or gore, but some being images of evil such as Mercyful Fate’s classic Don’t Break The …read more

Shakira’s Shakin It With Danzig or ‘When Sexy Meets Satan’

Shakira’s Shakin It With Danzig or ‘When Sexy Meets Satan’

Honestly, if I ever watch a Shakira video the TV is usually on mute.  I don’t care if she has 1 or 100 kids, she knows how to shake it…and shake it good. So what could make a sexy Shakira video even better? Danzig, that’s what. Although it is an unlikely duet, this is one a video that works both ways. It makes a Shakira video even better to watch and a Danzig video a little more interesting to watch. Enjoy!
