Samples of all Megadeth ‘Endgame’ Tracks Available

Amazon.de now has 30 second audio samples of every track from Megadeth’s upcoming album Endgame, being released by Roadrunner Records on September 15th.

Frontman Dave Mustaine had the following to say:
“Thematically, I’ve never been known to be a silent bystander in a world that needs our participation. As more is revealed about our former President’s legacy, a little-known yet staggeringly frightening document which was signed into law, named ‘Endgame’, has been uncovered. The album ‘Endgame’ is the most energetic music offering I have penned in over a decade and is far more believable than knowing someone signed ‘Endgame’ — the document …read more

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Discusses Journalists, Dimebag Darrell

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Discusses Journalists, Dimebag Darrell

Just saw this over at Brave Words. Dave has been catching a lot of shit lately, so I guess he’s decided to make a statement regarding his feelings toward journalists and gossip mongers. I can’t say that I blame him. This is an interesting read, especially when he mentions the alternate universe possibility of Dimebag Darrell and brother Vinnie Paul as guitarist and drummer for Megadeth.
“So yesterday I am doing an interview, the third in a day-full of interviews, which I am so weary of, and their “certain” questions, that it can turn the mood of an interview into complete …read more

Megadeth Contributing Music To New Land Of The Lost Movie

Megadeth Contributing Music To New Land Of The Lost Movie

Dave Mustaine and Megadeth have been contributing songs to cheesy movies for a long time. Super Mario Bros., Shocker, Last Action Hero, Beavis And Butthead Do America, Bill And Ted’s Bogus Journey and Tales From The Crypt Demon Knight. What’s one more? The songs are always pretty cool despite how the movie actually is.
Dave announced in his latest Liveline recording that they are sending some music to the new Land Of The Lost with Will Ferrell. Blabbermouth reports:
“I’m going to be working on the new Will Ferrell movie ‘Land Of The Lost’… and going to be putting some music on …read more

Megadeth Vs. Nardwuar

Megadeth Vs. Nardwuar

If you’ve never watched a Nardwuar Servietter interview then you don’t know what insanity you’re missing. In my sheer boredom and lack of good news flowing through the metal news-wire this morning, I came across this video where the Canadian interviewed Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson awhile back, back during the “Risk” release. Narwuar asks aboot (not a typo, please forgive me, my Canadian readers) the old rumors that “Ying-wee” Malmsteen was joining the band, Venom, Stryper, Meatloaf and somehow even Gary Glitter. The entire 6 minute, 16 second interview is pretty entertaining. You can check out more of …read more

Dave Mustaine Hints At Upcoming Tour With Slayer?

Dave Mustaine hinted at a possible upcoming tour that has potential to “squash feuds” on one of his Megadeth Forums updates yesterday.
Droogies!
Today is the 9th of April and I have agreed to doing something last night that I am sure a lot of people are going to be very excited about, and something that I had hoped would one day lead to another one of the potential feuds going away for good, if not for a long while.
I can’t confirm the band or the dates yet, and I have to go get my youngster up for school. Rest assured, …read more

Jason Newstead Will Perform With Metallica At The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction

Metallica blog, Metallicablogmagnetic recently posted about Metallica’s induction in to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and Jason Newstead appearance. Former members were invited to appear and/or perform, but only those that performed on released official records will be among the inductees.
Dave Mustaine was invited to attend but due to touring he couldn’t make the date. Do I think Dave Should be inducted among the members of Metallica? Honestly it’s kind of a maybe but no, not really type feelings. He may have had a great influence on their sound in the early days and they may …read more

Random Thought: Megadeth Daily Updates

Random Thought: Megadeth Daily Updates

I think it’s kind of cool that the members of Megadeth give everyday updates, but I wonder if this is like Dave’s policy or something. Do they have a schedule of who’s day it is to give the daily update or do they do like rock-paper-scissors for it after their morning Wheaties and Legend’s Cup coffee.
Obviously it’s a slow news day. I’m also tired of waiting for the new album already.

Megadeth Done With Recording…For Now

Megadeth are getting ready to head out to Priest Feast with Testament and Judas Priest for two months, so all studio recording will cease until they return in late March. Here is an excerpt from Dave Mustaine’s update from the Megadeth Forums.
I am sitting in my office at 5:30ish AM and am typing this as I try to wake up. Yesterday, Andy Sneap went back to the UK for a while, as we are preparing to go out on the Priest Feast Tour. This means effectively that the recording has stopped, until we return in March/April.
We finished all …read more

Old School Review: MD.45 The Craving (Remastered)

Old School Review: MD.45 The Craving (Remastered)

In 1996 I was a BMG music customer. I was also one of those customers that always forgot to mail the stupid little card back that said that I didn’t want the “Featured” artist cd. One of the cds that I received because of this was  Dave Mustaine’s project MD.45. I was a bug Megadeth fan back then so needless to say I was excited about this when I got it. The excitement didn’t last long though. The original release of The Craving was a huge disappointment for me. The guitars and everything was cool but the vocals just …read more

The Scrap Metal Report 1/14/09

I got things done kind of early yesterday so there was a bunch of fairly relevant news items that I missed.
Dave Mustaine says that he and producer Andy Sneep have decided that they have what they need to start recording the new Megadeth album.
