Lordi Unveil Deadache Album Artwork

Oh LORDI! The Finnish monster-rockers are now ready to roll out their new album Deadache on October 28th, 2008 in the US. The last piece to the puzzle is now ready – the album’s intense cover art, a one-of-a-kind piece hand painted by Mr. Lordi himself, is making the rounds of the faithful.
Upon speaking about what went into the design of the cover, the bands vocalist and creative mastermind – Mr. Lordi had this to say – “I wanted to do a picture that is somewhat striking, while at the same time not trying to hide the new look of the monsters in any way. So it is not mysterious or ‘fantasized’, just the five faces, well lit up.”

Mr. Lordi goes on to add, “For anyone who knows Lordi, it will be clear that it is us when you see the cover. It is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. It took about two weeks to finish it, as I am really way too detailed with my paintings. Then I took a photo of it and continued the work with photoshop, leveling and balancing the colors and saturation as well as adding the logos.”
Deadache will be released in over 30 countries, including all of Europe, the US, and Japan. The band is kicking off a US tour following the release of the album, in early November 2008. A series of special events in New York City will kick off this run – look out for further info on these developments to be announced on or around 10/20!

Lordi "Bite it Like A Bulldog" Video

Finnish monster-rockers LORDI are poised to strike with their fourth studio album, Deadache, on October 28th, 2008 in the US. The video for the album’s lead single, “Bite It Like A Bulldog,” is dark in imagery and sure to grab the attention of rock and horror fans worldwide!

Deadache will be released in over 30 countries, including all of Europe, the US, and Japan. The band is kicking off a US tour following the release of the album, in early November 2008. A series of special events in New York City will kick off this run – look out for further info on these developments to be announced on or around 10/20!
LORDI’s previous studio album, The Arockalypse, has sold over 350,000 copies worldwide. The album has been released in over 30 countries, including the US and Japan and the album has been certified over triple platinum in the band’s home country of Finland, gold in Germany and Sweden. The single “Hard Rock Hallelujah” has also achieved gold status in Germany.

Lordi Bring A Fresh Look With The New Album

Lordi, there’s a band that I almost never talk about. Not because I’m not a fan, because I’m not. It’s because I rarely see anything about them. With their upcoming new album “Deadache“, they have freshened up their costumes. Is that an Evil Dead Style Necronomicon belt buckle?

Finnish monster-rockers LORDI announced that their fourth studio album, entitled Deadache, will be released in the United States on October 28th, 2008. A new album cycle calls for a new look – fantastic (in both senses of the word) costumes designed by Mr Lordi will surely fit the bill!

The anthemic first single off the Nino Laurenne-produced Deadache, “Bite It Like A Bulldog,” will be serviced to US radio on October 20th. The song (which can be heard at LORDI’s MySpace page) features a powerful bass line and was co-written by Mr. Lordi and bassist Mr. Ox. Other song titles from the upcoming opus include “Man Skin Boots,” “Girls Go Chopping,” “Ghosts of Heceta Head” and “Dead Bugs Bite.” The album has a horror-theme, but a classic rock sound.

LORDI keyboardist Ms. Awa also promises something different, “The music is guitar-based rock, just the way a rock band should be. The album features sounds from the 80’s: hammond-style organs and a bit of Rob Zombie-style as well. All the experiences we’ve had and people we’ve met touring the world during the last few years have had their influences on the album.”

A crucial element of LORDI’s appeal has always been the band’s monster characters. As is customary for LORDI, the look of each character has been redesigned for the new album. The new costumes, designed by Mr. Lordi will make their in-person debut when LORDI headlines Popkomm in Berlin this October.
