Dean Zelinsky Unveils New DBZ Guitar Lines
January 9, 2009 by Scott
After leaving Dean Guitars, a company that he founded many years ago, Dean Zelinsky wanted to start his own guitar company. A company that would capture what Dean once was before it turned in to “Dime” guitars. Understand that the design concept and contracts to build and manufacture the Dean Razorback, a Dimebag Darrell signature guitar, was in the works before Dime’s untimely murder. Dean continued with the guitar but since has still used Dimebag’s name and reputation to sell their guitars. I don’t have a clue if that’s exactly why he left the company and it’s even said that …read more

There is a great interview with Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine at Ultimate-Guitar.com. Dave talks about everything from his contract with Dean Guitars, Chris Broderick, and Gigantour 2008. Here is just a snip of it.
UG.Com: But you do have to admit that it’s a compliment that fans and media are still very interested in what Megadeth is doing 25 years later.
Dave Mustaine: I’m not ungrateful for having the attention and the work right now. It’s one of those jobs that you really treat fans with honor and respect. If you’ve got even a modicum of humility, you can …read more
Dimebag Hardware Clothing Line
Dimebag Hardware, a small clothing line dedicated to the memory of Dimebag Darrell Abbott is up and running at dimebaghardware.com. By clicking on the pictures of the t-shirts on the site it will take you directly to Guitarcenter.com where you can purchase the t-shirts at very fair prices. This is just the beginning of the clothing line and I expect more accessories and camouflage cargo shorts soon. Dave Mustaine Apologizes For Being Himself
Dave Mustaine posted the following at ther Megadeth Official Web page forums:
“This is to MEGADETH, Dave Mustaine, Dean VMNT, or any other Dean model, the staff, distributors, players and the owner of Dean guitars.
“It has come to my attention that an off-color joke that I said at last year’s NAMM, which I said this year’s too, has offended some of you.
“For that I am truly sorry, and Dean Guitars and the other endorsers are much classier than I behaved that day, and I regret possibly embarrassing the company. Not everyone watching was an adult or needed to hear the word …read more
Another Interview About Dimebag Darrell W/ Vinnie Paul And Rita Haney
Here are a few excerpts from an interview with Rita Haney (Dimebag Darrell’s ex-girlfriend) and Vinnie Paul (If you don’t know who Vinnie Paul is then you shouldn’t be here). Anyway It came out of Metal Hammer’s January Issue. Three years later you’d think people would stop asking the same damn questions to the same people.
Metal Hammer: Do you think that had Darrell not been murdered that he and Vinnie might have eventually made their peace with Phil, and PANTERA might have gotten back together?
A Dimebag Statue Memorial | For Once I Agree With A Bunch OF Texans
January 9, 2008 by Scott
According to Revolver magazine, a bunch of Texas Dimebag Darrell Abbott fans want to erect (Hu-Hu, He said “erect”) a Dimebag Memorial statue. I say why not? Hendrix and Elvis have one. Why note Dime? You know what Vinnie Paul said about the “Hell Yeah!”. This is a great idea. I think this would be the only reason for me to ever go to Texas…and to maybe visit a friend.
The picture is not of an actual statue but of a sculpture you can buy at Knucklebonz.com, but I think it would make for a good pose for a statue.
