(Florida) Death Metal History
December 14, 2008 by Scott
Unless you’re only into some of the new Death metal or Deathcore, then you probably know at least some part of American Death Metal history. That history being that so many influential and break through death metal bands paved the way for so many other bands out of The Sunshine State.
January’s issue of Revolver Magazine has a great article on the history of Florida Death Metal with contribution from David Vincent (Morbid Angel), Glen Benton (Deicide), John Tardy (Obituary), Paul Masvidal (Death, Cynic) and Scott Burns. If you don’t have a clue who Scott Burns is, he is responsible …read more
Deicide Cancel Remaining South America Tour Dates
November 24, 2008 by Scott
Blabbermouth reported that Diecide had to cancel their remaining South American tour dates after they got shafted by a Honduran airline and shoddy promoters. South/Central American promoters seem to be getting quite the reputation for not coming through on their end of the deals. Glen Benton made the following statement:
“This morning [Sunday, November 23] we went to the airport in Honduras and the fine folks at [the airline] gave our tickets away to other people, and when we tried to change the tickets and make the remaining shows, there were no other flights available to get us to El …read more
Revolver’s Graphic Violence

Revolver Magazine’s October issue had a segment called “Graphic Violence“. Some of them were not really graphic as to having a sexual or image of death or gore, but some being images of evil such as Mercyful Fate’s classic Don’t Break The …read more
Deicide Tour Dates
August 27, 2008 by Scott
I thought I read somewhere awhile back the Glen (Benton) said he wasn’t going to tour in support of ‘Till Death Do Us Part’. I remember him saying something about that he didn’t need to. Perhaps record sales were not what he expected and he ‘Deicided’ to do it anyway. Tour Dates after the fold. ʂɰ
Terrible Songs That Get Stuck In Your Head
February 25, 2008 by Scott
This week the b5media Music Channel is having yet another list style theme day. The theme this week is “10 One Hit Wonder Band & Songs I Can’t Get Out of My #!@%ing Head“. Unfortunately this has been a tough one for me. I can’t think of any Metal One Hit Wonders who’s songs get stuck in my head. However I can think of all sorts of terrible songs that get stuck in my head whenever I hear just the smallest part of the song or a word that has some significance to the song. Here is my list …read more
