“It has been an interesting tour so far. My heels got infected due blisters from my new running shoes so I have been rocking sandals this whole tour and it’s fucking cold outside.

“Dez got sick and actually had to cancel a show in Germany. Mike went down with the flu for about three days.

“Our bus broke down in Scotland and we took vans to the next show. We played in full blown corpse paint provided by BEHEMOTH last night for Halloween.

“We also released a new video which we are really fucking proud of for ‘Fate Stepped In’. It is our best video to date with out a doubt. We have been playing bigger shows than we ever have as a headliner over here and it feels earned. just tell everyone know, we are already writing and finding the new direction for our 5th record, so far its fucking fast. see y’all on the road motherfuckers.”

We have a special project for all of you horror fanatics and metal heads to check out. Nathan Karma Cox, the director of ‘Not All Who Wander Are Lost’ and ‘Pray For Villains’, and also our longtime friend and music video collaborator recently won a short film contest and is currently looking for votes for the contest’s final round. His film is a horror themed project in a sea full of light-hearted pieces.

Bjorn says he has mixed feelings on it. He says he likes the music released in the whole package and there is a reason that they pick the cover art with the cd. He also says that metal fans are loyal and if they really like the music they usually buy it. So true this is. There have been albums that I have downloaded a song or two (legally) to get a feel for the album and later when it is released I buy the whole thing. Thats what I like about the internet. Some record labels and bands let you sample some of the songs before the record comes out. Sometimes they are just good singles and you get shafted when you buy the record and GOOD bands produce entire records that rock to keep the fans coming back.

Randy says he used to buy vinyl and that kids these days sometimes never own cds, they own iPods. This could be because of a lot of things. It can be because (and I hope this is the reason) the music is more important than some shitty cover art. It can be because it’s convenient. It could be because it’s cheaper than buying a cd with two good songs and a bunch of fillers. Or it could be a combination of them all.

Dez in his wisdom from the tatoo’d chin says something so stupid as that Apple should be responsible for people that download illegal music. He states that Ipods were designed to only play MP3’s downloaded from Itunes. That your Ipod is only supposed to accept music from Itunes. In other words he says all other music you have on your hard drive that you didn’t pay for by downloading should not be compatible with iPods. Dez, I just got an iPod and the music I saved to the iPod via iTunes has been paid for. I didn’t download it illegally, I bought it on CD and ripped it to my hard drive like a lot of people. I’m not paying for the music twice just to download it from iTunes so it’s “legal” or compatible. Thats why iTunes converts it, because they have to give us the benefit of the doubt that perhaps this music has been paid for at least once before. Besides, iTunes doesn’t have everything. I understand your logic, but it’s illogical. Think about what your saying before you spew a load of garbage into the ears of the intelligent. You were making perfect sense right up until that point of the interview. It’s kinda like prostitution or drugs. There is always going to be illegal downloading. All we can do is do the right thing and not do it, but there will always be people that do. Hey, remember that point in the late 90’s for about 10 minutes…when Coal Chamber was cool (kinda). I paid for your shitty music once, what makes you think I’m stupid enough to down load it and pay for that crap again? Oh and Dez? If you want a fuckin gold record plaque I’ll hit up a thrift shop, spray paint a gold record, stain a hunk of maple, hot glue it and give it to you. Quit being a crybaby. Your not getting rich because of the internet and illegal downloading, your not getting rich cause your band is not all that and no one wants to buy your Coal Chamber on crack sound! Sorry, Dude. Don’t be retarded. Your a fuckin “Unit”. You want an “encodement”, then you develop it so it can’t be hacked, you pay for it, you convince every band that this WILL work without flaw and then roll with it. Until then STFU! You can’t change the digital content of a cd by scanning it at the register just like you can’t change your shitty band by changing the shitty name!

I couldn’t watch any further without holding back the vomit that was building in the back of my throat. Dez, Lars called…he said come on over and clean his toilet already!

If I was in a band and we put out one really epic songs before we went through with the whole thing and leaked it onto the internet and it exploded and people loved it. Thats would make me happier than all the money in the world. The self gratification of knowing that you have created something that people want, people love. Sure when all is said and done and we started to get big and wanted to be rewarded for out efforts it would be a bit frustrating but knowing that we created something so great that people would do just about anything to include breaking the law to get out music…thats the best form of gratification you could ever experience…in my broke, non-famous musician opinion.

“Today is Monday and there is one week left before we leave for Alaska. We will come home after that for 16 days and then it is off to the Pac Rim, and eventually to Australia, to start this awesome line-up of Gigantour 2007 in Australia, better known as G.2007.OZ!

“I know not everyone here is a MEGADETH or Dave Mustaine fan, but hopefully that will change after we play for you, or better yet, meet with you, and until then chat and post with you here.

“I don’t use slang or abbr. much, due to there being so many ages and different nationalities here. I want to be as clear with what I say so that our friends around the rest of the world that cannot come see us, can ‘live out’ the concert through you loyal metal fans; through your ears and eyes, through the one thing that we all have in common — love for this kind of music!.

“Gigantour this year will consist of four bands again, as you may have seen the way we did it on our ‘Maiden Voyage’ last year. We played with Max Cavalera and his band SOULFLY, Michael and Angela of ARCH ENEMY, and the guys from CALIBAN (which I didn’t get a chance to hang out with as much as I would have liked to) in 2006, and while I think most musicians dream of playing in ‘exotic, far-away places,’ the Aussie audience, it is something to be reckoned with. I mean beautiful tan faces of guys and girls of all ages, rugged lads and lasses from all over the Island, and they have such a ‘Don’t-fuck-with-me-and-I-won’t-fuck-with-you’ attitude in the pit, that while it seems friendly, there is also a very powerful and intimidating energy that you know could light a small city and it could change into a fire-breathing dragon!

“Seeing the guys in STATIC-X should be interesting because we haven’t seen them since we last toured in the ’90s and they were just converging on the metal scene – from my knowledge, that is. I also am friends with Dez from DEVILDRIVER and we met years ago when he was in COAL CHAMBER and Sharon Osbourne managed them. Dez

“And how can I forget promises to sit me down with a good bottle of wine, and there’s no better place so far, since I really like Australia Shiraz (but what the hell do I know — as long as it doesn’t say ‘Maddog 20-20‘ on it I am good). LACUNA COIL? I think that everyone will be expecting Ms. Scabbia to join me/us to sing ‘A Tout Le Monde‘ and while I hope that happens, I haven’t asked her yet, so keep your fingers crossed!

“Lastly, to the good people of Perth, as you know many years ago MEGADETH first came to Australia, and it was great! We fell in love with Oz, and we thought we were coming back soon after our first trip there; we just needed to get through Japan.

“Well, that is were the aforementioned Dragon of Oz first popped up, and we had to cancel Australia because someone (not me) ran out of illegal, medical type, sniffing or casually injectable street powder! So, naturally the blame was on us, (me, really and i wasn’t the one who ran out!) and it was bad. We didn’t return for a great many years.

“This time though, I remember playing with so much passion and excitement on Gigantour 2006 OZ. I have never felt so loved and anticipated by the Aussie fans in all my years of our records being available down under; from the several concerts we have played, to the ‘almost self-imposed prison’ we damn near put ourselves into. Yes, I am thrilled to come back to Australia, and especially to go to Perth: it almost isn’t a real OZ Tour if you can’t do both sides of the country. I mean it is nice, but Australia is about as old as the USA and about as big, and it would be like only playing NY, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida and thinking that that is a US tour?!?!

“There is also going to be a celebration of sorts, because I can remember walking down a street to dinner with our partner, A.J. Maddah, in Australia for Gigantour for 2006 and 2007, and we were talking about the subject matter that makes up the song Amerikhastan. A.J. is a genius and we had some very stimulating conversations, some of which was about the Statue of Liberty, some on Halliburton’s involvement, some on the republican scandal with young pages’ pants being pulled down ‘in secret,’ by some guys ‘in the Senate’ and ‘in the House of Representatives,’ or more apropos, ‘in the closet,’ and how some democrats don’t care, and will pull anyones pants down.

“So, that’s it for me for the week. Stay tuned as we get the other bands aware of this great community here, and get the band-members, webmasters, and entire entourage with them, including all of the online fan-bases feeling welcome here.

“It is my personal invitation to become part of this forum and help us spread the cheer internationally of Gigantour as we all have a hand in building a festival for international metal fans around the world.
