August 26, 2009 by Eric J
Rodrigo y Gabriela have added a number of October dates to their upcoming North American tour. With the new album, 11:11, being released on September 8th, the tour begins in mid-September and now runs through most of October.
Starting today, Rodrigo y Gabriela are offering a free mp3 to their fans. “Atman” is a Sanskrit word meaning the only deathless part of the human being. The song is dedicated to Dimebag Darrel and Alex Skolnick of Testament guests on the track with a guitar solo. Rod says:
“Dimebag is the best guitarist ever…and having Alex Skolnick playing on this track (Atman) was …read more
Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Discusses Journalists, Dimebag Darrell
Just saw this over at Brave Words. Dave has been catching a lot of shit lately, so I guess he’s decided to make a statement regarding his feelings toward journalists and gossip mongers. I can’t say that I blame him. This is an interesting read, especially when he mentions the alternate universe possibility of Dimebag Darrell and brother Vinnie Paul as guitarist and drummer for Megadeth.
“So yesterday I am doing an interview, the third in a day-full of interviews, which I am so weary of, and their “certain” questions, that it can turn the mood of an interview into complete …read more
Dimebag Darrell – A Tribute
Today (August 20) marks what would have been Dimebag Darrell’s 43rd birthday. In tribute to Dimebag, I wanted to write a post honoring his life and his contributions to not only metal, but to his friends, family and all of us fans.

Review: A Vulgar Display Of Power, Courage And Carnage At The Alrosa Villa
December 18, 2008 by Scott
A Vulgar Display Of Power: Courage And Carnage At The Alrosa Villa is a fairly fast read and hard to put down. This isn’t a book about the life and death of Dimebag Darrell Abbott, but a book about the life and death of everyone that died that gruesome night in December, 2004.
It starts off by telling you about the first time Nathan Gale made an assault at a Damageplan concert in Cincinnati, Ohio. A lot of people didn’t know or hear about this incident in April of 2004. That night nobody died and the only person that …read more
"Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, 4 Years Later And It Still Hurts A Little
December 8, 2008 by Scott
“Dimebag” Darrell Lance Abbott
Aug. 20, 1966- Dec. 4, 2004
Four years ago I was still in the military and was overseas. I was going through my daily ritual of checking email, news and such before heading to work when I heard them say something about someone being killed at a Damageplan concert. I didn’t catch the whole thing so I ran a search on Yahoo! and it returned with a bunch of headlines reading “Damageplan Guitarist Murdered On Stage During Concert“, Or “Four Killed At Ohio Heavy Metal Concert“.
Dimebag Hardware
November 19, 2008 by Scott
First let us put to rest everyone screaming about cashing in on Dimebag’s death and legacy. I know I have said something about it in the past but then we would have to say the same thing about people like Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix. The fact is that Rita and Vin are not sitting back and putting money in to this to get it going and gloating in hopes that Dimebag’s death will rake in a boat load of money. It was Dime’s vision and idea. They just brought it to life after his death. He was loved …read more
I am Hated Part 2, Metal Divas
In the first part of this article I talked about bands that are hated because they changed styles or just are not really accepted by a lot of metal fans in the community of the huge dysfunctional family we call Heavy Metal. Now I’m going to talk about some of the Metal stars that somewhere along the line thought that they are better than other people and look down upon people, both fans and other bands as peasants in their kingdom of fame. Some of the stars become cocky and self righteous douche bags. Now lets have a little …read more
Ride For Dime Dio Scammer Foiled
March 28, 2008 by Scott
As some of you may have heard on Blabbermouth, some scum bag that went by the alias Doug Goldstein has been contacting organizations and venues claiming to be a representative for the great Ronnie James Dio. He tried scamming the Ride For Dime charity and Alabama concert promoter Mat Raymond, offering up the Dio act for clubs and venues and the obvious Ride For Dime Charity event. Both parties put down a deposit check for the chance to have Dio perform at their events and the Ride For Dime even announced that Dio would be part of the show but later …read more
Dimebag Hardware Clothing Line
Dimebag Hardware, a small clothing line dedicated to the memory of Dimebag Darrell Abbott is up and running at dimebaghardware.com. By clicking on the pictures of the t-shirts on the site it will take you directly to Guitarcenter.com where you can purchase the t-shirts at very fair prices. This is just the beginning of the clothing line and I expect more accessories and camouflage cargo shorts soon. A lot of people are going to say it’s another way to make money from a deceased metal icon. But I think it’s more of a way to pay tribute and show …read more
