Tony Iommi recently issued an update concerning progress on the recording of the new Heaven And Hell Album:

“I have been so busy working on the new (Heaven And Hell) album!!! It’s all going very well I’m pleased to say! We are hoping for the album to be released some time in March/April.”

Ronnie James Dio said that the songs they recently wrote sound like a “Real Cross-section” of The Mob Rules, Dehumanizer and Heaven And Hell. It should be interesting to hear new studio music from Heaven And Hell. More metal to look forward to in 2009.

On a side note, one thing that kills me about Dio is that he makes sure that he puts the horns up multiple times through a performance. I know he claims to have started it in metal…but I don’t feel he has to prove it 40 times in one song.

I still have not grabbed a copy of the live album from Heaven And Hell, but I’ve heard great things about it. I still prefer the Ozzy era Black Sabbath but I’m eager to hear how this is going to turn out though.

That’s what they do in Wisconsin anyway. According to The Smoking Gun, Kyle Drinkwine did just that.

Drinkwine throttled singer James Mischler, 28, and his friend Cyrus Kozub, 29, “over one’s ability to sing karaoke.” Though cops did not specify which song set Drinkwine off last week, Kozub told TSG that Mischler was performing “Holy Diver,”

First I would like to say…’Throttled’? People still use that term? Anyway the dude was pretty drunk, blowin’ a .169. The Smoking gun also says that this is not the first Karaoke assault and other people have been battered for either singing or screwing up Coldplay’s Yellow. I think that deserves at least a good kick in the ass for requesting that song. On another note, it was election night, and what better place to be on election night than at your favorite karaoke bar, getting drunk.

Bottom line….don’t f*ck up  a good Dio tune…and watch out for anyone with the last name of Drinkwine.

There is a new Ozzy impersonator on the TV show America’s Got Talent. It was such a convincing resemblance that Sharon Osbourne wanted him to pull down his pants so she could make sure it wasn’t really Ozzy, but then she remembered that she was wearing Ozzy pants so it could not have been him.

The Dio-era Black Sabbath: Rules Of Hell box set has sold just over 2600 copies in it’s first week. Not too shabby.

Christian Metalcore band War Of Ages also sold around 2600 copies or Arise And Conquer in it’s first week. That’s pretty good for the first week sales of a lesser known band of that genre. I bought a copy last week. I dig it. It’s not anything epic, but it’s a good metalcore album.

The ‘Nuge will be a special guest on Chris Angel Mindfreak. Chris is going to attempt to change Ted’s redneck ways…ok, Teddy’s going to shoot an arrow from a crossbow at Chris Angel and Chris is going to try to catch it. Whoop-dee-friggin’ doo! I hope he fails…but we know he won’t because he’s such a super-dooper magical dude.

Motley Crue are supposed to make another ‘Important’ announcement in L.A. at noon tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas what it is?

Andreas Kisser will release his solo album entitle Hubris I & II on October 6th via Mascot Records. I’m eager to hear what that’s going to sound like. I’ve always like Andreas even post Max-Sepultura.

As some of you may have heard on Blabbermouth, some scum bag that went by the alias Doug Goldstein has been contacting organizations and venues claiming to be a representative for the great Ronnie James Dio. He tried scamming the Ride For Dime charity and Alabama concert promoter Mat Raymond,offering up the Dio act for clubs and venues and the obvious Ride For Dime Charity event. Both parties put down a deposit check for the chance to have Dio perform at their events and the Ride For Dime even announced that Dio would be part of the show but later reported that they had been scammed and that it would not take place. On a good note both the Ride For Dime coordinators and Mat Raymond immediately put a stop to the check payments and didn’t lose their deposit money.Sooner or later this jack-off is going to get caught and hopefully sued and/or serve jail time for fraud or whatever they can get him on because they have been pulling this crap for the last two years. It’s bad enough they are trying to scam someone in the first place, but to scam a charity is just lower than snake-shit!

Metallica’s Black Album is one of the top ten selling elbums of the “Sound Scan” era, a bunch of people on Blabbermouth.net argue about it, blah-blah-blah…who really cares.

Sebastian Bach still thinks his record is the greatest thing since Chinese Democracy and Phil Anselmo lists Downs new record in his own top 5 of 2007. This goes to show that neither artists are truly sober just yet.

Ok, so let’s say your office…or wherever you may work has a Christmas party. Let’s just say that your boss says you can invite ten of your favorite metal artists to the festives. I can think of all sorts I would invite…but I can also think of all sorts I wouldn’t invite. Here is a list of 5 metal artisits I would NOT invite…especially if alcohol was involved, and 5 I would.

1. Lars Ulrich, honestly…who wants this whiney bastard at a party?

2. Randy Blythe. We all know how Randy gets when he drinks.

3. Glen Benton. I don’t think the upside down cross branded into his forehead would go over well with my co-workers.

4. Ozzy, cause if he’s there, chances are Sharon will be there and I can’t stand her.

5. Bruce Dickinson. Bruce can be a self rightious asshole a lot of times.

Now for the 5 I would invite

1. Willy Adler, if anything just for comic relief.

2. Dee Snider. I think dee would just be fun to be around at a party.

3. Dimebag Darrell, if he were still alive. Dime was always a friendly guy and a blast to be around from what I’ve heard.

4. Kerry King. I want to see how this guy celebrates Christmas.

5. Ronnie James Dio…dressed like an elf.

Black Sabbath originated out of Birmingham England in 1968 as a blues and rock band under the names Polka Tulk Blues Company and Earth. Later changing their name to Black Sabbath after Tony Iommi wrote a song called the aforementioned name when confused with another local band called Earth.

This is where I’m going to stop this history…because if you don’t know the history of the band then you either are new to heavy metal or you don’t watch enough TV. Google Black Sabbath

Fast Forward::: Ozzy and Sabbath reunite and do shows at ozzfest. Later, Dio hooks back up with Iommi, Butler and Drummer Vinny Appice to tour as Heaven and Hell with a great success. Black Sabbath The Dio Years is released and also has had great success.

Rumors have floated around for years about a new record being recorded with all original members but has and probably will never happen. Honestly I hope it doesn’t because how can you bring something back from 40 years ago and expect it to still have the impact that it had back then. It won’t be the same and frankly I think it will be a huge disappointment for fans new and old. Lets leave well enough alone. All Hail Black Sabbath!

Dio: Metal Hits. Got it at Wal-mart for $5. I didn’t have any Dio in my collection and I thought this was a good start.

Lamb Of God: Ashes of The Wake. I wish I had got into this band a long time ago. I’m looking to widen my LOG collection soon.
