Carlos Ramirez wrote a great piece about a genre that I have never really got in to enough to know much, if anything about it. Doom Metal. One of the lesser known or less popular genres that probably doesn’t get enough credit in the mother-genre of Heavy Metal.
Among some of the top ten are Chicago’s Trouble, Candlemass and even Type 0 Negative.  If you’re a fan of the Doom metal genre, take a look at the list and weigh in your opinion.

Perhaps my choice of words to try to explain The Legion Of Hetheriaare a bit wacky, but that’s kinda what it sounds like to me. Renaissance Recordssent me a handful of cd’s yesterday in the mail. This is the one that really caught my ear. The Legion Of Hetheria is a five piece band out of Mexico City, Mexico. You got Ricardo Loera on guitars, clean & tenor vocals, Death metal style vocals, and synths. Then you have Maria Victoria Perez who just has  amazing soprano opera style vocals. Jassir Guarnero on Bass, Jorge Alvarez on guitars and Jesus Loera On drums.

I keep getting e-mails in my Yahoo! bulk box and the subject line says: “Be Like Ron Jeremy!”, and I think to myself…”Why the hell would I want to be old, fat, and hairy?” Anyway, here is 5 free downloads for today.
