Down is heading out on tour once again in supports of Down III: Over The Under with Evil Army and Weedeater. Down III has sold over 128,000 copies since it’s release on September 25th of 2007, a far cry from their platinum plus selling debut album, NOLA. Of course times have changed and very few metal bands see platinum hits these days with illegal downloading.

Down IV, obviously being the bands fourth album is supposed to be released some time this year. The dates below have been confirmed so far.

Lamb Of Godsaid no to an offer from Metallica to be an opening act for them following the release of their upcoming Death Magnetic. Lamb Of God said it was due to them getting back in the studio to record their next album. Perhaps they had this time scheduled and don’t want to or can’t reschedule with the same producer or maybe it’s just because they think they are better than being an opening act even for Metallica. I think it’s the latter and I would agree with them. Look for their follow up to 2006’s Sacrament sometime in ‘09.

Word has it that Phil Anselmo is writing an autobiography. Seem this guy has a lot more time to do constructive things now that he’s sober. It’s amazing what you accomplish when your not sleeping in your own vomit. Good for you, Phil….but you’re still a tool.

Green Jello…jelly, jello..whatever. Did you know they were on a “Come Back” tour? Me neither, but apparently they have postponed the last two weeks of it to get in the studio to record an album that they will not release through a label but will sell at shows and will be available for purchase directly through their website. They said record labels take too much money for doing so little and they can profit and fund what they do much better by selling it themselves. This is totally understandable. Comeback tour?…seriously?

Russia doesn’t like emo kids any more than the rest of us. In an attempt to clean up society and be a cooler country, Russia is trying to pass a bill to ban kids from wearing emo an goth attire in public. Can you blame them? This will also cut down on the serious vision problems most emo kids have due to one eye being used much less than the other, cutting optometry cost through out the country and hairdressers can now charge full price for a full haircut.

Arsis are beating off to a new drummer…wait, that’s not right. Arsis HAVE a new drummer. Sorry, read the article wrong. Shawn Priestwill be filling the empty thrown and might become a permanent member.

July 25th marked Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All25th Anniversary. Damn I’m feeling old right about now. Hard to believe it’s been that long.

But anyway, that’s cool and good for them because The Formation Of Damnation is a great album. Now if you wonder how they won just take a look at the bands they were up against. Bullet For My Valentine, Children Of Bodom, Down and Atreyu. The only band that in my opinion had a chance is Children Of Bodom, with the release of Blooddrunk.

• Dethklok and Chimaira will be doing summer tour. Rumor has it that Chimaira will be opening for Dethklok so sorry, you’ll have to sit through that to see Dethklok.
• Dino Cazeres shot down any rumors of a Fear Factory reunion after being seen talking to Burton C. Bell and says everything is good with Divine Heresy and he’s proud of his newfound band’s success.
• If anyone gives a shit, Tom Morello is being awfully silent about further Rage Against The Machine studio rumors. Let me guess…they are going to scream about more political views, oppression and corrupt law enforcement. ZZZZZZZ

We all say shit we regret every now and then and all we can do is learn from our mistakes and live with regret. Phil Anselmo, as huge as his ego is has feelings as well as the rest of us and in his much less clouded state of mind he is in these days I’m sure he feels more regret than ever. It doesn’t change the past, just molds the future.

The only person you can point a finger at and blame for Dime’s death is the schizophrenic dip-shit, Nathan Hale. You can try to blame his mother for allowing him to have a hand gun in the state of mind he was in, but if he didn’t already have a gun he would have acquired one somewhere else. Thats was sick criminals do. They find a way to commit heinous, violent crimes one way or another.

Lay this to rest already for the love of God! Celebrate his memory, not his death.

KINGDOM OF SORROW, the band featuring Jamey Jasta and Kirk Windstein, will release its debut album on February 19 via Relapse Records (February 25 internationally).

Jasta (HATEBREED, ICEPICK) and Windstein (DOWN, CROWBAR) came together some three years ago to create KINGDOM OF SORROW, and in that time put together an album’s worth of crushing American metal. Relapse will give the band’s long-awaited debut album its proper worldwide release this coming February.

Commented Jasta: “I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am about KINGDOM OF SORROW! There’s been two and a half years of questions, rumors and speculation surrounding this and now we can finally move forward! We’ve signed a worldwide deal with Relapse Records!!! It’s an honor. Kirk and I could not be happier, I’ve always been a big fan of the label.”

Jasta continued: “I can’t wait for the world to hear this record. It crushes!! I pushed myself to become a better vocalist and wrote and expressed myself lyrically in a totally different way than I have before. Kirk has never sounded better! His tone is like a 747 filled with tar crashing into a lead mountain. We should press this CD on plutonium because it really is that HEAVY. It was so much fun working on this record. There was no other motive than to have fun and make a unique and different record for the both of us while keeping it heavy, mean and rockin! I think everyone is going to be really surprised!”

Windstein added: “We’re just so happy to have this come out…finally! We had a great time putting it together and we’re just so proud of it. Its super heavy, man, it just crushes! Everyone I play it for, their jaws drop. And after three years, it feels good to know now everyone can hear it.”

The KINGDOM OF SORROW album was recorded at Planet Z Studios in Massachusetts with producer Zeuss (HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL) and will include 11 tracks. Preview tracks can be heard now via the band’s official MySpace page.

Holy crap, 2008 is here already. Where does the time go. Another year another year older my decrepit ass is. 2007 was a fun filled roller-coaster of madness, but here we are. Former Dio Guitarist Craig Goldy wants to share his vast knowledge of the record industry…that is probably old and out dated. Here’s some knowledge I have of the record industry, It’s a dying institution unless they adapt to the internet.

Metallica’s Black Album is one of the top ten selling elbums of the “Sound Scan” era, a bunch of people on Blabbermouth.net argue about it, blah-blah-blah…who really cares.

Sebastian Bach still thinks his record is the greatest thing since Chinese Democracy and Phil Anselmo lists Downs new record in his own top 5 of 2007. This goes to show that neither artists are truly sober just yet.
