It’s that time of the year again and the Grammy Nominees for Hard Rock/Metal categories are out and I hope you weren’t expecting anything great. The usual “Big Names” get thrown in the mix just because of their names and history. Nothing groundbreaking here in my opinion.

My pick for this category would be Judas Priest simply for the reason that this is a great song and everything else on this list is bovine excrement.

The Music Industry (Warner Music Group in particular)wants yet more money from music based video games such as Guitar Hero or Rock Band. I can understand if they were looking out for the bands, but in all honesty we know that they are just trying to line their pockets.

Taking my 10 year old son along to Mayhem Fest was something that was only planned about a week before going. I had some reservations about taking him along because he can get kind of restless and doesn’t like to be out in the heat very long. I can’t blame him, I don’t like it much either. Dragonforce’s new album to be released August 26th via Roadrunner Records will be titled Ultra Beatdown and will no doubt beat you down with boredom and flashbacks of post Atari age Nintendo/anime theme sounding songs. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I will be refusing to listen to it.

You can also register for presale tickets. You can bet the farm I’m going to cover this show in August  in Virginia Beach. Now, I have to try to figure out how to get a press pass.
