I think most of us saw this coming a while ago. You don’t have to be a Warrant fan (For the record, I am not) to know that Jani Lane has struggled with drugs and alcohol for a long time and going back on the road with Warrant didn’t help his addiction. So it’s official that Jani Lane is once again out and Robert Mason of The Lynch Mob is in to continue the tour.
I imagine there will be a lot of Warrant fans that will be pissed off to not see Jani Lane when they go to the shows, but look on the bright side. You’ll probably get a better show anyway. I think what Jani needs to do is pick himself up and check in to a rehab or something. Perhaps that’s what he’s doing.

I imagine the other members probably thought it was a great idea but had their reservations in the beginning. They then probably thought they should give it a shot and touring with Jani would fill more seats. I’ve been checking out a lot of videos on Youtube and the band sounds good in everyone….and then Jani comes along. I not only think that perhaps its because of a substance abuse problem, but also because Jani just can’t sing that well live. I’m not sure how he was back in their day, but he sounds just awful now. Check out the bands statement after the fold…

“It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce that Jani Lane will no longer be performing with WARRANT.

“From the beginning of our reunion talks to the last note of our last show together in Houston this past weekend [on August 31 at the Rock The Bayou festival], we have had nothing but good intentions of bringing a quality original WARRANT show to our fans and friends.

“We wish Jani nothing but the best and remain friends.

“We are very excited that we have found an unbelievable voice in Robert Mason [LYNCH MOB], an old friend of the band. We have three dates confirmed, come out and judge for yourself… We don’t think you will be disappointed!”
