“Death Magnetic,” the entire album, available for Guitar Hero too! It’s a first in both music and gaming . . . the same day that “Death Magnetic” hits the streets, you’ll be able to download every song from the album for Guitar Hero III! We are so psyched that we’ll be the first out of the gate with this simultaneous release . . . who knows, maybe a few years from now this will be the norm when your favorite band’s new record comes out.

This made some big news the other day. Some kids father catches him smoking pot and sells his guitar hero 3 pack for Nintendo that he was supposed to get for Christmas. The GH3 pack sold for over 9 grand. Here is the story from the father explanation.

Here’s the deal:

So I spent who knows how many hours of my life trying to get “Guitar Hero 3” for the Nintendo Wii for my 15 year old son who has been begging for it since he was born (well not really but he’s wanted it for awhile). So after waiting in lines and going into every game store in the city over the last 2 weeks (practically being laughed at when I asked for guitar hero 3) I finally got lucky and got one at EB Games (they just got a shipment of them 25 minutes before I walked in!).

So I was so relieved in that I had finally got the Holy Grail of Xmas presents pretty much just in the nick of time. I couldn’t wait to spread the jubilance to my son.

Then, yesterday, I came home from work early and what to I find? My innocent little boy smoking pot in the backyard with 2 of his delinquent friends.

Now I know santa applies the “naughty or nice” paradigm to determine who gets what on Christmas. My son (Isaac) hasn’t exactly been Mother Teresa this year (he got suspended for fighting in the spring, among other things) but I thought I could still justify getting him this present. Maybe it would make him stay home more and “rock out” on this fake guitar thing. He pretty much spends all his free time at his friend’s house playing it anyways (while high on marijuana, I would imagine).

Anyways, I am now finding it hard to justify rewarding him with this gift after he so greatly disappointed me. I know smoking a joint isn’t the end of the world, but if you can convince me that he deserves the gift, then I will end the auction. You will have to be very convincing. I am an elementary school teacher and I know that rewarding bad behavior is just asking for more of the same…

After I caught him getting high on my patio I did the typical yelling, screaming, kicking out the friends, etc… but I had not decided on a suitable way to punish him. As of the time of me writing this, he does not know I got him Guitar Hero 3. I will show him the auction once it is posted and we can watch it finish together. Sort of a “Father-Son bonding experience”. While I doubt this will keep him from ever smoking pot again, I think it will make him think twice before doing illegal (well I think pot is still illegal in Canada) drugs on my property.

I am still considering getting him a game for his Nintendo. Maybe something like Barbie as the Island Princess or Dancing With the Stars. These games are in stock everywhere I go, and I know he will just love them.

Merry Xmas Isaac. I hope you’ve learned your lesson. –Father.

This is what I think. I think this was just a fabricated story used to sell the Wii guitar hero pack on Ebay. You know a story will always help sell an Item better. This is why I think it is a fabricated story. It all sounds too good. A father just happens to come home early and catch his “Innocent little boy” smoking pot with his delinquent friends? and then at the end says something stupid like “I think pot is illegal in Canada”. To me this story sounds like it was written by a woman. No man or father calls his son an innocent little boy and any parent knows what pot is illegal…even in Canada. This was a great story to sell a guitar hero pack for 100 times it’s value…well played. I think thats scalping if you ask me…but oh well. Maybe that just because I didn’t think of it first!

Here is the link to the actual Auction Daddy, NO! not my GH3!

Well, it came out Sunday but I was extremely busy and I didn’t make it to Gamestop in time to pick it up. So yesterday I picked it up and let me tell you…Guitar Hero 3 rocks! With all new songs and battle mode it makes things interesting.

What I don’t like about it is it’s slow load and save time. I have a PS2 so I can’t say its the same for every platform. I unlocked all the songs for quickplay by using a cheat code and prepare yourself for a challenge. Even on medium, some of the songs and solos are much more challenging then the last. The solo on Metallica’s One is crazy and is going to take some practice to get it down. Good luck with Reign In Blood, its a tough one too, but fun to play.

If you have seen the set list you know that there are realy great songs on this game. From old classics from The Who to new, Nu-metal songs from Slipknot. Bonus songs include other metal favorites like Killswitch Engage and Senses Fail.

During career play you can be challenged into battle mode by RATM’s Tom Morello and Slash and if you beat them you unlock them in the character store. This brings me back to battle mode. Battle mode is pretty cool with multiplayer because you get to “Attack” the other player when you hit so many notes you get weapons such as Double notes, triple notes and other stuff to make it more difficult for the other player.

I give Guitar Hero 3 a big fat thumbs up! Pick yours up when you get a chance. You won’t be disappointed.

My Solution? Guitar Hero! I mention awhile back that I just recently got into Guitar Hero. All three games and three guitars later and I find that it’s one of the best ways to spend some time with the family. My wife is improving greatly from the first time she picked up the guitar and my son loves it but is yet to really want to challenge himself with the medium level, but he does well and even gets into it a bit too much and starts talking trash to his mother when he does better. Naturally I have to step in and blow them both out of the water…and talk my own trash afterwards.

Guitar Hero 3 looks to be promising. I love the new les paul style controller and can’t wait to rock Metallica’s One. I Need to perfect my medium level before I move on to hard…getting used to that extra buttom is not easy.

Guitar Hero Encore Rock the 80’s brings back memories and I can’t wait to see what else GH3 has in store for us…

Well I’ve been extremely lazy the last two days and not bloggin too much. Kinda giving my brain a break…or have I?

I’m not a fan of hip hop but I am a fan of comedy, especially ill humor, so naturally I made it a point to watch the Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav. Let me tell you it was hilarious! All the guest comedians did a great job and even Snoop Dogg said some funny sh*t.

Monday work was pretty hectic and I didn’t feel like getting online. Instead I played some guitar hero 2. I’m the kind of person that will wait til the price of something goes down so I’m just getting into the Guitar Hero thing and I love it. It’s not easy especially getting used to some of the rhythms and songs. I picked up Guitar Hero one this afternoon because I think it has a much better song selection than the first and I’m not too fond of the new 80’s guitar hero but I look forward to the upcoming Guitar Hero 3 thats supposed to have Metallica’s One on it. That is going to be insane!

I picked up …And Justice For All on Sunday. Wal-mart is selling it for 10 bucks now sorta like they have been doing the black album. I have been wanting to replace this CD for a long time. The first time I had it was on a cassette…yeah, I’m old. Thanks. Now the original CD I have of it is so scratched up from years of abuse it won’t even get through the first 20 seconds of Blackened before it starts skipping.

If anyone hasn’t already heard Van Halen has reunited with DLR, fired the bass player and hired EVH son, Wolfgang. Wolfgang, in case you haven’t seen looks like a heavy set (to put it nicely) version of Eddie. He’s only 15 or 16 but they say he’s a great bass player. Like you’d be able to tell anyway, but if he can play the opening bass line to Runnin With The Devil, I think he’ll be alright.

I picked up the Lost Tracks Of Danzig yesterday so I’ll do a review on that next. I don’t know if I got a spike of page views because of the sticker I put on the back of the car or if it is a mistake like we’ve had in the past. I hope it’s ’cause of the sticker or something. If you haven’t noticed, I have not had a logo on this page for a few days now. I don’t know if this is because they are working on replacing it or I just pissed someone off bitchin’ about how much I hate it and they just took it away…I’ll have to e-mail my editor.

Anyway, thats enough of my B.S. I hope everyone had a great weekend and I’m gonna go play some more Guitar Hero!

According to Metallica.com, The third Guitar Hero game will feature …And Justice For All classic “One”. Guitar Hero III will be available for Playstation 3, XBOX 360 and Nintendo Wii. In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last three years, Guitar Hero is a great break from the everyday game controller and a must for musicians as well as music lovers that want a break from reality and want to jam to such classic songs as Smoke On The Water, Sweet Child Of Mine, and You Really Got Me Now.

If you have never played Guitar Hero then you need to go by your local EB Games and see if they have one plugged in and start wailing away. BEWARE, your ego will only get you so far. I don’t care if your Eddie Van Halen, your not going to jump on this and shred like a pro, it takes some getting used to.

Guitar Hero III will be available in time for the holidays. Visit Guitarhero.com for more info.
