Gwen Stacy Posts New Headlining Dates and Video blog

Gwen Stacy have announced new headlining dates for December. The band who are currently headlining with support from Ice Nine Kills and Stray From The Path will be doing the Dec dates with support from Amarna Reign. The band is in support of their new album A Dialogue which was released last week. Reviews are pouring in such as NUVO, the Alternative weekly from the band’s home city of Indianapolis who gave the album 4 out of 5 stars and said Gwen Stacy “are very good at what they do.” Indie Vision Music.com said of the album “Any fan of the metalcore genre should pick this up and add it to their collection.” Coverage is also forthcoming in such publications as Alternative Press, HM Magazine and Substream. Also on tap is two new videos from the band, the first being “The First Words” which will premiere soon. In the meantime you can see the band’s video blog with new episodes on their Myspace page.

Gwen Stacy Seeks Extras for Video, Album Teaser Now Available

Indianapolis based Christian hardcore band Gwen Stacy are looking for extras/fans to take place in their music video shoot on Thursday, October 15th.

The shoot will take place in an abandoned city near O’Hare Airport in Chicago. Gwen Stacy will be performing on the empty streets and they need you guys to fill them up. You must be over 18 to participate. Please send photo(s), age and location to gwenstacyvid@gmail.com. The band will get back to you concerning where and what time to meet on the 15th. The band’s new album A Dialogue will be released on Solid State Records this month.

2008…A Cursed/Blessed Year In Metal

Even though we saw some great shows and amazing albums in 2008, we’ve also seen our share of craziness. I’ve compiled a list of some crazy things that have happened this year that I can think of off the top of my head.

Byzantine breaks up…3 days after they release Oblivion Beckons.
Light This City break up before releasing the last record.
Arsis changes members more than their underwear.
The Black Dahlia Murder lose a guitarist…steals one from Arsis.
Phil Demmel of Machine Head passes out twice on stage.
DJ Sid from Slipknot breaks both of his feet…keeps on trucking.
Joey Jordison breaks an ankle, cancels UK shows.
Nachmystium gets booted from the Opeth tour for undisclosed shenanigans.
Kristen Randal shows her boobs…and they’re only slightly better than Amy Winehouse’s.
Winds Of Plague drummer Jeff Tenney abruptly leaves the band mid-tour. Says he’s tired of seeing Kristen Randall’s boobs.
Gwen Stacey singer Bobby Oakley leaves the band…cites that he’s going to sing for Mary Jane Watson.

All That Remains Cancels remaining US tour dates Thanksgiving week due to vocal issues with Phil Labonte.
Gorgorath’s Gaahl almost, slightly, kind of admits that he is a homosexual.
Axl Rose released Chinese Democracy.
Scar Symmetry loses a singer…hires two more.
Metallica released an album that wasn’t really all that bad.
Divine Heresy fires Tommy Cummings and an alleged assault takes place later on.
Tommy Cummings is hired by funk-metal band Snot to fill the shoes of the late, great Lynn Strait. (That was a totally unintentional rhyme)
Limp Bizkit reunion rumors float around…for a day.
Celtic Frost break up again.
Gas prices rise to over $5.00 a gallon and bands start to drop off tours left and right.

The list goes on but these are just the ones I could think of right now. If you can think of some more, please feel free to fill it in the comments section. Other than that, it’s been a great year in metal. 2009 can only get better!

Gwen Stacy…WTF?

What do you get when you name a band after an ex-girlfriend of Spiderman? I’m not sure…but I do know that when this video came on Headbangers Ball last night I was like “I really don’t like this”. That was the point where I stopped watching. Everything else on the playlist was not worth watching in my opinion. The good stuff like In Flames, C.O.B. and Death Angel had already played. Not to mention the classic T.S. video. I said the other day that the Demon Hunter song was starting to grow on me…I got annoyed with it last night. Anyway, here is the video for Gwen Stacy’s The Fear In Your Eyes. I don’t know what the video is all about. Just looks like a bunch of kids kicking the shit out of each other to me. Oh..and the Black Ocean Video by Century sucked as bad as the song did.
