Lazarus A.D. Thrash with Japanese Fans at Loud Park

Wisconsin’s Lazarus A.D. recently returned from their first ever trip overseas to Japan’s Loud Park festival in Tokyo. Needless to say, the band had an amazing experience. They were the third band to play on the Big Rock stage on October 18th. The stage was headlined by Slayer and also featured Children Of Bodom, Hatebreed and Papa Roach among others. Lazarus A.D. sampled some foreign cuisine, was surprised by eager fans waiting at their hotel room door to sign autographs and take photos, and played to over 10,000 people. Multiple circle pits tore through the crowd as Jeff Paulick, Dan …read more

Skinlab Posts New Tour Dates

Groove metal band Skinlab have announced their upcoming U.S. tour dates.
Formed in 1994 by Steev Esquivel (vocals, bass), former guitarist Mike Roberts and drummer Paul Hopkins, Skinlab took the San Francisco, CA Bay Area music scene by storm. Machine Head’s Robb Flynn took notice of the band, and helped them to secure their first record deal (Bound Gagged and Blindfolded) and sold out European tour.
After guitarist Mike Roberts left the band in 1998, Skinlab recruited guitarists Scott Sargeant (Killing Culture) and Steve “Snake” Green (Skrew) and unleashed their limited edition EP Eyesore soon after. In 1999 the band recorded Disembody: …read more

Hatebreed’s Chris Beattie Sends a Message to Fans

Chris Beattie, Hatebreed’s bassist, posted the following message regarding the upcoming “Decimation of the Nation” tour:
“The Hatebreed tour machine is back on the road this summer with our good friends in Chimaira to bring you the first leg of the Decimation Of The Nation Tour. You’re not going to find anything heavier than this tour in 2009, unless we’re on that too! Get there early and check out all the bands. There is enough mosh to go around! Bring your ass to the show and you will not be disappointed!”
We shall see, Chris… we shall see.

Hatebreed For The Lions: Like Hatebreed, Only Better

Hatebreed For The Lions: Like Hatebreed, Only Better

Hatebreed is one of those bands I really like. However I realize that they are not technical by any aspect, but true hardcore never really was. I’m ok with that. While some people may talk trash about them because the riffs are always simple and repetitive, I enjoy it for what it is supposed to be; hard, heavy and abrasive music with nor frills. Just balls to the wall, fist pumping music.
With that said, I’ve been listening to the new Hatebreed covers album, For The Lions. Hatebreed, while not adding much of their own flavor to it makes the …read more

Random Thought: Is It Me Or Does Jamey Jasta Still Look Like He’s 20 years Old?

Random Thought: Is It Me Or Does Jamey Jasta Still Look Like He’s 20 years Old?

Seriously, it doesn’t seem like Jamey Jasta ages. He’s 31 and he still looks pretty young. I’m 33 and I still look pretty young…so I presume. I always feel like one of the older dudes when I go to metal shows. Then the 40 year old guys show up and make me feel good about myself.
Maybe it’s because Jasta has taken care of himself or is just a natural baby-face. Maybe it’s the baseball cap or Mike Muir bandana. By the way, Mike Muir is looking old as whitened dog shit lately. You know what I’m talking about. Of …read more
