I haven’t mentioned much about Headbanger’s Ball lately because it’s been on too late for me to really care about it. This week only it was an early show that started at 10pm and it was a pretty good line up…with the exception of 2 songs. Hed PE still sucks and the new Static X song is just like their old songs and I can’t say that I liked it at all. Despite what a lot of other people are saying, I kind of dig the new Dope song, 6-6-Sick. I think it would sound better if someone else was singing, but then it wouldn’t be Dope now would it? As you know, Testament’s More Than Meets The Eye Video debuted last weekend on Headbanger’s Ball as reported by Blabbermouth. This weekend the video will be featured again on Headbangers Ball as well as never before seen footage of their video shoot at the famed Alcatraz prison off of the San Francisco bay. There will also be other things Testament within the show along with the regular mediocre videos that they will show at the ungodly hour (for us old folks) of 2 AM est, this Saturday night/Sunday morning. Christian Metalcore band War OF Ages will premiere their first video from their latest release Arise & Conquer on Mtv2’s Heabanger’s Ball this saturday. With a limited budget, Leroy Hamp explains how they kept the first burning during the shoot. You can read all that good stuff over at Headbangerblog.com if you like. Cool video for a great band and song.

Not a bad mix tonight. I’m glad they dropped some of the videos from last week. All That Remains’ Two weeks starts things off and Toxic Holocaust finishes it up. I was never a Faith No More fan so I could do without that one. Back in it’s day, I used to hear people say "He’s got an evil sounding voice" whenever they heard the "What is it" part of Epic and I always used to say, "Damn, you must never have listened to any metal then."

But hell, you get the new Amon Amarth Video in there so you can’t complain too much. I think they should go back to the two hour show and throw more older videos in there, but that’s just me.

Some pretty cool videos this week. It’s repetitive as usual but still a couple of older and classic videos in there like 5 Minutes Alone and To Sirius. Could be worse. Avenged Sevenfold could be in there with their new live DVD coming out. Something to not look forward to. Yes that’s really me, but no the hair is not real. I stole it from Nikki Sixx when he wasn’t looking.

Makes it tough to watch Metalocalypse. I need to get a DVR. Anyway, looks to be only 8 videos, so either one or more of them is really long or you can expect a few more commercials in the mix. I’d saying it’s probably more commercials.

Last week I kind of slacked due to the fact that I was on vacation with my family and it really wasn’t on my mind. Here is this weeks HBB play list. Not the greatest list. The Hatebreed video will be on the upcoming live DVD, The gates Of Slumber video is kind of a cool, sledge, doom song (Kind of reminds me of Devon Townsend) and the Dragonforce song is from their upcoming Ultra-beat off cd. The Straight Line Stitch video is better than the last one but I still don’t like this band. I have always loved the Korn ‘Blind’ video, I don;t care what anyone says about nu-metal and to be totally honest I’m kind of growing tired of Meshuggah. I won’t be watching tonight, so someone let me know how the Impending Doom video is. Lastly, I think it’s about time they take this HTML Rulez Dood video out of rotation, right? Put WhiteChapel’s This Is Exile and Kataklysm’s Taking The World By Storm back in there. Keep a look out for a new All That Remains Video in the works in the next coming month from the new album Overcome. Play list after the fold.

In case you missed Headbanger’s Ball last night, here are the videos. A fairly good line up with the classic Carcass Heartwork video and a laughable Grim Reaper video. I went to sleep during Municipal Waste’s Sadistic Magician, a band that I’m not all that impressed with. The Gates Of Slumber video and song were pretty cool though. Check out the rest.
