Venus Doom | Some Kind Of Sick Joke?

As most of you know, I have this sheer hatred for Ville Valo. Why? Because I can’t stand the way he is all over the place, the way he acts like some metal Diva and I hate the heartagram. However, I have not heard much HIM music and the stuff I did hear was not all that bad. Now to my point. Someone, probably a disgruntled HIM fan sent me an opened (Used) copy of Venus Doom recently. I guess that’s what I get for posting my address online. Anyway, I listened to it and what I can say is this: It’s NOT metal, it’s rock, but a soothing rock melody and Ville has a decent voice…but IT’S NOT METAL I don’t care what color you paint it. One complaint I do have about the music is that each and every song seems too long. Just when you think it’s finally over it drags on for another minute and a half.

So there I said it, HIM’s music is alright. I may lose some respect and/or “cool points” for saying this, but screw it…every metal fan has some rotten skeletons that most are too afraid to show, so piss off. If you want to just relax and listen to rock songs ~~about love and suicide~~ then it’s perfect for you. This will probably go into my collection of Guilty Pleasures but I still stand my ground when I say that I still don’t-like-Ville…and to his hardcore fans that kiss the ground he walks on…grow up, he’s just some grubby, love starved dude that doesn’t give two flying shits about you or your love letters to him! Idols are for people that can’t live for themselves!

Why Do You Hate____________?

I’m always seeing people saying “this band sucks”, “that band sucks”, so on and so forth without any reason why they hate that band so much. Whether it’s metalcore, hardcore, nu metal whatever, I want to know what drives your hate for some of the bands on this list below. I want to better understand why people are so hateful to bands that I actually like and think are very talented. In return I give some reasons why I hate some of the bands I always bash on here. So Why do you hate:?

Why Do You Hate:…

Killswitch Engage? Sure some of them have kinda cheezy stage antics but the sound is great and diverse…perhaps it’s not evil enough for some metal heads?
Slipknot? Yeah..I know why…because it’s Nu Metal and all Nu Metal Sucks right? I agree that a lot of it does…but I really dig this bands sound. Would it make a difference if they didn’t wear masks and jumpsuits?
Hatebreed? Unless you’re just not into hardcore. Jasta and crew bring it heavy and straight forward.
Divine Heresy? Dino’s new crew has a bit of a FF sound but Do you expect Dino to change the way he plays or the sound of his gear? Besides, FF hasn’t put out a decent album since Demanufacture so why not?
Trivium? Matt Heafy and the boys are amazing talents. I love the guitar work from these guys but was never big on the vocal points until The Crusade. The Crusade was the record that people started calling them “Metallica” clones because Matts vocals kinda sound like a young James Hetfield. I say as long as they don’t sound like a new James-AH Hetfield-AH! then sing on.

Ok, so now it’s my turn…

Him? It’s not so much the music that I hate, it’s the fact that they keep calling it metal and how much Vile acts like a little Diva bitch.
Avenged Sevenfold? Once again it’s because they keep calling this shit metal. These guys don;t know what they want to be. Metal, punk? they just don’t know. They plaster themselves with tats and eyeliner to try to fit an image. I don’t know what the deal is but don’t like it.
Papa Roach? I bought a Papa Roach CD once. $13.99 of my hard earned cash I’ll never get back and 10 minutes of my life that I never want to remember. These guys are the kings of a mediocre single and a shitload of fillers.
Cradle Of Filth? I’m a huge Misfits fan and they did a horrid cover of Halloween on the Underworld 2 soundtrack…and I don’t really like black metal so that pretty much sums it up.
DragonForce? While I feel they are extremely talented, this music annoys the hell out of me.

Throw some other band names in too. Why do you hate _______?

I hate this guy. Ville Valo judging Metal Hammer’s Get In The Ring with Oderus Urungus from Gwar…WTF? You may as well have Lemmy judge a rap Battle. Ville is not metal, his band is not metal, hell, his belt buckle probably isn’t even metal. Come on Metal Hammer, you can find better hosts than Ville. I think I’m going to go throw up now.

HIM Fans Are Violent, Hateful People!

Ok, well maybe not all of them, but so far two people have wished some not so nice things on me for posting a negative post on HIM’s vocalist Ville Valo when he got beat up by a girl. While I can’t blame them for defending Ville because they are loyal fans, I do wish they wouldn’t make excuses for him like he was taken advantage of because he was a heavy drinker…so if he was stone sober he would have beat his ex-girlfriend to a bloody pulp? What genre do they call this again? Love Metal? These fans are not very loving…even to their enemies.

So far I’ve been wished a painful death and told to go straight to hell…do not pass go, do not collect two hundred dollars! Perhaps both will happen at the same time. Who knows? What I do know is that I still don’t like this band, especially when they are thrown into the metal genre where they obviously have no right!

Ville Valo Gets His Ass Kicked By A Girl!

I’m posting this because I can’t stand him or HIM. Apparently Ville Valo knows how to annoy his girlfriend just as much as he annoys the metal scene to the point where she gives him a good beat down. Here is what World Entertainment News Network reported to blabbermouth.net.
