Iron Maiden “The Trooper” Mashup
July 23, 2009 by Eric J
I think The Trooper was one of Iron Maiden’s best songs, loved it as a kid, love it now. So while listening to this mashup of The Trooper with The Monkees’ I’m a Believer, my kid came running out and yelled “Shrek!”, which made me realize how much the music of our childhood can make us grin. Yes, a song about charging headlong into battle knowing you face certain death makes me smile. Especially when mixed this way:
The Scrap Metal Report 5/18/09
May 18, 2009 by Scott
Wow, almost an entire Monday without an update. Well, I assure you I have a very good excuse. The fact is that I started a new/old job today. I went back to work for my old employer in a new position. First day on the job “The Man” had me bustin’ my ass for 10 hours.
With that said, there is also this to say: May 31st will be my last day with Metal Martyr. It’s been a fun [almost] two years of bitching, ranting, misspellings, grammar butchering, hatred, (sometimes senseless) negativity and most important of all interacting with readers …read more

Iron Maiden has filed a lawsuit against a comic book creator for the name of his comic which is titled Iron And The Maiden. The band says that there is a “Confusing similarity” between the bands name and the comic book title. According to Blabbermouth, the creator and spokesperson for the comic book company, Jason Ruben, stated the following.
“The Iron and the Maiden legal team believes that this case is completely without merit. It is outrageous to claim ownership of the well-known term ‘Iron Maiden,’ a medieval torture device that predates rock and roll by centuries and is part …read more

April 20, 2009 by Scott
The early to mid 1990’s delivered a harsh blow the heavy metal. Grunge overshadowed heavy metal but thankfully did us all a favor by killing the glam-rock era. While a lot of metal bands continued to release solid metal albums, they still had grunge to deal with in both marketing and touring.
I was in my mid teens, working as a dishwasher during the time. My coworkers were all in to the grunge thing and were neo-hippies to boot. We had a prep room where we would prep food and had a cd player in there to listen to …read more

Iron Maiden: Riot In Rio. Well, Ok It Was Bogota, Columbia.
March 9, 2009 by Scott
Americans riot over Guns N’ Roses. Columbians riot over Iron Maiden. How foolish does that make us look? When you have 111 Columbians that didn’t or couldn’t buy tickets to see Iron Maiden, things heat up. I imagine there was actually more people than that and they only arrested 11 people.
The Latin Tribune Reports:
The report said that about 25,000 people attended the Saturday evening concert in Simon Bolivar Park, “however, the embarrassing acts perpetrated by a group of malcontents who wanted to enter without tickets” ruined the social scene in the area around the venue.
They even said a Columbian …read more
