Demi Lovato is a Metalhead

Demi Lovato is a Metalhead

I never thought I would be making a post about Demi Lovato on Metal Martyr, but yes, I am. I found this video over at Metal Insider, and just had to share it.

If you don’t know who Demi Lovato is, she stars in the Disney show “Sonny with a Chance“, and was in the movie “Camp Rock“. She’s sweet, she’s perky… she digs Job for a Cowboy, Abigail Williams and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. At 3:10, she tells Jimmy Fallon who he should book on his show.

Job For A Cowboy Set New Release For July

The follow up to Job For A Cowboy’s 2007 highly anticipated debut album is set for a July ‘09 release and is titled Ruination. I’ve tried to listen to JFAC a few times and it just doesn’t seem to click for me. I honestly can not pin-point why I don’t care for it but it’s been awhile and maybe I should give them another try. There was some studio quality audio from the upcoming album on Youtube, but has since been taken down be Metal Blade. Here is some press info on the new album.

The follow up to the …read more

Scrap Metal Report December 15th 2009

This time of year there is never a surplus of time for anyone. Besides the snail speed flow of report worthy metal news this week, time just hasn’t been on my side. To keep things short, here are some significant things that went on the Metal since Friday.

Machine Head’s Phil Demmel collapsed on stage again on Friday. This is the third time it’s happened and the second time it’s happened this year. Machine head has canceled the last tow shows on this leg of their tour and will be heading back top the states. Phil suffers from a rare …read more

The Importance Of A Good Hook In Today’s Metal

The Importance Of A Good Hook In Today’s Metal

In today metal there are so many bands out there trying to break into the scene. A lot of bands get signed that I think are very talented, but they lack a good hook. Whether it’s a good chorus line or just a good verse or rhythm in general that keeps it interesting, it’s gotta have it. There are far too many bands in today’s metal that don’t have that hook. Some people are “Anti-hook” and don’t like them. Why? I honestly don’t know. It’s hard to go to a live show and just bang your head without having a …read more

Children Of Bodom’s Blooddrunk Already Gold In Finland

Children Of Bodom’s Blooddrunk Already Gold In Finland

Children Of Bodom’s Upcoming release April 15th on Spinefarm Records has already gone gold and that’s just in pre-orders.  The Single “Blooddrunk” was a huge hit on the Finnish charts and I think it’s quite obvious that metal is more popular on a mainstream level in the Nordik countries.
You can still get your preorder Blooddrunk here. Which is kind of stupid because the presale says they ship on the 30th?
