The ride starts this year at 2:30pm at the Longhorn Harley-Davidson/Buell located at 2830 W. Interstate 20, Grand Prairie, TX. This ride will be 38 miles long, with a special trip past Dimebag’s house and studio, and end up at The Palladium Ballroom, located at 1135 S. Lamar in Dallas, TX.

At 6:00pm, the BBQ & Bash All Star Jam begins, hosted by Jose Mangin and featuring performances by Souless Intent, Bound, and Texas Hippie Coalition. The all star lineup includes appearances by Ace Frehley (KISS), Corey Taylor (Slipknot and Stone Sour), Aaron Lewis (Staind) and members of Shinedown, Snot, Machinehead, Buckcherry, Testament and more.

All the proceeds from Ride For Dime go to several charities, including Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Covenant and Little Kids Rock.

Just a few things real quick and I’m off to see if I can find a driving range that is open on this beautiful Labor day.

• Slipknot’s All Hope Is Gone has landed at number 2 on the UK charts and number 1 on the Australian charts. So how’s it hitting on the Billboard Charts? Who gives a crap because the Billboards have their genres and stuff all screwed up. On a side note this album has started to grow on me a bit. I still feel it’s not their best work and there are still a few songs that I’m not feelin’, but it’s not too bad. Suppose it could have been worse.
• KISS are going to start marketing “Hotter Than Hell Ketchup” in the Myrtle Beach, SC KISS Coffee House…and you can be a proud owner of some spicy habanero ketchup (wouldn’t that be ‘hot sauce’? I’m just sayin’) for just 7.95 USD a bottle…
• Dark Funeral guitarist “Lord Ahriman” (~snicker-snicker~) are a couple of weeks into the pre-production of their next album and want to make sure they are “666%” satisfied before going into production.
• The Haunted have anounced a few Australian tour dates. The new album ‘Versus‘ will be out the end of this month. Nov. 08 – Brisbane, AUS @ The Arena, Nov. 09 – Sydney, AUS @ Manning Bar, Nov. 11 – Melbourne, AUS @ The Hifi, Nov. 13 – Perth, AUS @ The Capitol
• Bruce Dickinson piloted a plane that brought home some British RAF (Royal Air Force I’m assuming) returning home from Afghanistan.
• And lastly Austrian Death Machine will debut their first video from the recently released album Total Brutal. The video for “Get To The Choppa” will debut on Myspace Metal on September 3rd.

I went to see Dark Tranquility, Divine Heresy, Firewind and Soldiers Of Scrape on the Tyranny And Bloodshred tour…minus the tyranny. That was a bad ass show. I’ll announce the winner of the autographed Bleed The Fifth CD tonight.

Withered’s new album Folie Circulaire came out on the 17th, an extremely heavy and noisy album to say the least, but it’s one of those that just grows on you.

Judas Priesthad as saying Jesus Christ! with Nostradamus While it wasn’t the Priest we know, it was a concept album that I don’t think anyone was really ready for. Great musically, but unlike Priest.

Motley Crue graced us with an album that had me wanting a small part of my life back. That part being the time I spent listening to the Saints Of Los Angeles.

Slipknot released a free single in the title track of their upcoming album All Hope Is Gone. A lot of people are looking forward to the release of the new Album, to include myself. If you want the single now you will have to buy it…or download it from someone else who already has it.

Metallica announced the new titleof their upcoming CD will be Death Magnetic and hopefull it won’t be Crap Magnetic and I did my own spin on it before hand.

TriviumAlso announced the title of their new cd, Shogun…do-mo arigato Mr. Roboto!

Himsa anounced their last show and their disbanding.

Testament won Album Of The Year at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards

Light This City anounced that they are calling it quits and disappoint a shitload of people.

I started adding Metallica vinyl reissues to my collection even though I talk so much trash about them.

I gave a little piece of advice to Artist that try to retaliate against Blabbermouth trash talkers.

I took on a new Blog in The Rock Dose, a rock themed blog. Check It out some time.

I held a voting poll to see what people thought was Metallica’s Best Realease…it was almost scary!

Kiss says they are going to keep the marketing torch a blazing with an all new line-up of band in the future.

Twisted Sister announce they are taking the show to…BROADWAY?

Lastly, Disturbed released Indestructiblewhich sold a crap load of cd’s. I think people were pretty surprised that so many people actually dug them…or maybe it was The Dillinger Escape Plan that bought them all up?

That was about the important stuff that went on this month here. I hate going back through things and finding spelling and typing errors, but hell, I’m only human. I can’t wait to see what July has in store for us. Keep an eye out for a new contest for Metal Martyr’s 1 year anniversary!

One last thing for tonight. I just want to let everyone know that I will no longer poke and prod at the band KISS. even though I really hate Gene Simmons and what it all has become I will no longer be cynical about him here…I have a new blog where I’ll be doing that. I’m taking over The Rock Dose and giving it a full makeover yet holding to the original format a little. I’ll be cover rock news and reviews and the whole nine over there with rock bands and we’ll keep Metal Martyr all metal from now on.

So if you dig modern, classic rock and just rock in general and you dig my writing then stop by the rock dose some time. I have a lot of work to do over there but I think I can revamp it without letting Metal Martyr slide in the slightest. {PEACE!}

OK, this ha$ got to be the $tupide$t thing I have ever heard…now we can officially call Ki$$ a manufactured band like a boy band or a brand name. Read one from blabbermouth:

During a familiar rant by Simmons about how KISS could go on forever, Roy Hilmar Svendsen of Norway’s NRK asked jokingly if the band would consider looking for replacements for Simmons and Stanley in a TV show, similar to programs like “Rock Star” and “American Idol“.

“The answer is yes. The deal has just been signed,” Simmons replied. “It’s coming soon.”

Gene Simmons and a group of young ladies arrived in a limo at a San Diego 7-Eleven yesterday to promote Frank’s Energy Drink.

You may recall the controversial sex tape of Gene and a model from Frank’s Energy drink that he claimed could be decades old…so that would make Frank’s Energy Drink decades old and the model also decades older than she was then. I’m glad Franks Energy Drink is an equal opportunity employer that allows older models to be a part of their product. I wonder if he downed a can of Frank’s before his sexual endeavor so he could keep the little demon going.

Gene was quoted saying: “This is actually a better product, everybody talks about energy drinks but usually they’re just cough medicine,” said Simmons. “This is something that’s actually pasteurized. It’s Austrian and there are different flavors.”

I think your brain has been pasteurized, Gene. Cough medicine, eh? I didn’t know that! Next time I have a bad chest cold I’m going to go out and buy all sorts of energy drinks…but not Frank’s..because that is NOT cough medicine. I’ve drank my share of energy drinks and none of them have resembled or even tasted like cough medicine. I mean Monster tastes like shit but not like Nyquil.
