Kind of after a last minute decision on Friday night, my friend Martin and I decided to go see Kreator, Exodus, Belphagor, Warbringer and Epicurean last night and man, I’m glad we did. Two veteran thrash bands on one bill, tearing it up like it was 1986.

It was crowded for 7:30 when we got there. Epicurean was playing and they were extremely loud, but pretty good. I’m not familiar with the band but they have a thrashy, almost death metal sound to them. I guess one of their guitar players bailed on them.

Let the cheese begin to melt…along with your face. Kreator’s Hordes Of Chaos from the German veteran thrashers is a great album and any doubt I had before giving it a good, attention deserving listen have been thrown out the window. Time for another quick Scrap Metal Report. I went to see the Brooklyn, NY based band Early man last night so I’m kind of tired after getting home at 1 am and getting up for work at 6am. Back in early January, Prosthetic Records sent me a review copy of Byzantine’s Oblivion Beckons. I loved it! It was an amazing record but shortly after it’s release Byzantine announced that they would no longer be continuing as a band. This disappointed a lot of people and the reason for the break up was never really clarified by the band publicly.

Acording to Wackenopenair.com the roster for this years fest is as follows. Germany’s Wacken Open Air Fest will be from July 31st to August 8th.
