]]> Los Angeles based keyboardist Kristen Randall moves ahead from a 2 year stint in symphonic hardcore death metal outfit, Winds of Plague.

Kristen Randall states:

“I have decided to leave my current position as keyboardist with Winds of Plague and I’d like to personally thank each member of the band, as well as all of our fans. These experiences we shared have been such a huge part of my life the past couple years and I will cherish that forever.  I wish the band the best of luck in their future endeavors.  As for myself, music is my deepest passion and I look forward to working with musicians who have the same work ethic and honorable disposition.”

Upcoming events featuring Kristen Randall is TLC’s hit cutting edge tattoo documentary show; LA Ink with Kat Von D and will be aired in February 2010. Kristen Randall is also featured on the upcoming cover of Rebel Ink as well as an extensive spread in the Dec/Jan issue of Inked Magazine. The issue hits streets on December 15th.

]]> Even though we saw some great shows and amazing albums in 2008, we’ve also seen our share of craziness. I’ve compiled a list of some crazy things that have happened this year that I can think of off the top of my head.

  • Byzantine breaks up…3 days after they release Oblivion Beckons.
  • Light This City break up before releasing the last record.
  • Arsis changes members more than their underwear.
  • The Black Dahlia Murder lose a guitarist…steals one from Arsis.
  • Phil Demmel of Machine Head passes out twice on stage.
  • DJ Sid from Slipknot breaks both of his feet…keeps on trucking.
  • Joey Jordison breaks an ankle, cancels UK shows.
  • Nachmystium gets booted from the Opeth tour for undisclosed shenanigans.
  • Kristen Randal shows her boobs…and they’re only slightly better than Amy Winehouse’s.
  • Winds Of Plague drummer Jeff Tenney abruptly leaves the band mid-tour. Says he’s tired of seeing Kristen Randall’s boobs.
  • Gwen Stacey singer Bobby Oakley leaves the band…cites that he’s going to sing for Mary Jane Watson.

 

  • All That Remains Cancels remaining US tour dates Thanksgiving week due to vocal issues with Phil Labonte.
  • Gorgorath’s Gaahl almost, slightly, kind of admits that he is a homosexual.
  • Axl Rose released Chinese Democracy.
  • Scar Symmetry loses a singer…hires two more.
  • Metallica released an album that wasn’t really all that bad.
  • Divine Heresy fires Tommy Cummings and an alleged assault takes place later on.
  • Tommy Cummings is hired by funk-metal band Snot to fill the shoes of the late, great Lynn Strait. (That was a totally unintentional rhyme)
  • Limp Bizkit reunion rumors float around…for a day.
  • Celtic Frost break up again.
  • Gas prices rise to over $5.00 a gallon and bands start to drop off tours left and right.

The list goes on but these are just the ones I could think of right now. If you can think of some more, please feel free to fill it in the comments section. Other than that, it’s been a great year in metal. 2009 can only get better!

]]> Girls Of Century Media Calendar If you haven’t bought a 2009 Calendar yet and you dig the girls in bands on the Century Media label then you might want to order this. In my opinion…it’s not all that great, but maybe it’s because I don’t really dig women with a lot of tats, especially on their arms or the typical tramp-stamp. Maybe it’s just because they all look really sleazy in this photo shoot. I like Revolvers Hottest Chicks In Metal issues better because they tend to look a little classier than this. Does anyone else find that Kristen Randall just looks…acckk in these shots. (check out the splash) I guess either Angela Gassow didn’t want to do it or wasn’t available.
