Mushroomhead won MTv’s HeadBangers Ball 2007 Video Of the year with their video “1200“. While I kinda dig Mushroomhead I gotta say that I don’t think this was the best video of 2007. Perhaps most theatric but not the best.
I like to keep it simple and I thought some good front runner should have been KSE’s version Holy Diver, All That Remains Not Alone, and Mastodon’s Colony Of Birchmen (why is Brett Hines always so sweaty in his videos?). I guess there was a shit-load of votes, blah-blah-blah (it’s probably rigged) who cares.

You know with all the crap out there in Metal these days it’s hard for me to find something new to like. I have to scour the racks, thumbing throught the old shit, sifting through the new shit just to take a handful of CD’s to the listening station and not like a damned one of them.

If you’ve been stuck under a rock for the last month then you probably didn’t know that Killswitch Engage did a cover of Dio’s Holy Diver. I like it. I think it’s a good modernized version of the original and the video is just as corny as the original, but this time it was meant to be.
