Interview Exclusive: Light This City

Yesterday I posted the review to Light This City’s fourth and final album, Stormchaser. So what are the other band members up to now that they have disbanded? I was wondering the same thing myself and seeing that it was getting close to the release date of Stormchaser, I figured there was no better time to contact Ben Murray, one of the founding members and drummer of the band.
MM: It’s been almost 5 months since you announced LTC’s disbanding. What have you been doing since then?

Ben: Well, I personally started attending UC Berkeley in August, so I’m busy with …read more

In Review: Light This City Stormchaser

Earlier this year I caught up with Light This City for an interview when they were on tour with All That Remains, Chimaira and Black Tide. At that time they were touring in support of their third album Facing The Thousand which was also their second with second on Prosthetic Records. Facing The Thousand was released in 2006 and Light This City was in the process of writing and recording their next album shortly after this tour.
After the winter tour with fellow label mates All That Remains, Light This City got in to the studio and started recording Stormchaser. …read more

God Forbid’s Dallas Coyle Puts In His 2 Cents On The Break-Up Of Light This City

As some may know, Dallas Coyle of God Forbid does a blog every now and then on Metalsucks.net. Being that the In Thrash We Trust Tour has come to it’s end, Dallas has written an open letter to Light This City and speaks some deep words. Here is a very brief excerpt from it. Click the link to go to Metalsucks.net and read the entire post.
That night when I spoke to LTC it disappointed me. How the fuck are you going to throw away something that only one in a million people can do? Most people don’t have the talent …read more

Light This City Officially Disbands

Well it’s official, Light This City. In a very recent blog post from Ben Murray on the bands Myspace, ben explains the best he can for now. I’ve posted the blog word for word below. The good news is, is that we will see the release of the new album. The last for Light This City. I’m thoroughly disappointed but shit, what can you do. They aren’t the first band to break up and they won’t be the last. All we can do is hope that at some point in time we see some more from each and every …read more

Light This City…No More?

Light This City…No More?

I hope not, but there are a few rumors floating around the web that Light This City may be on the split and they have missed a few shows and have dropped from the In Thrash We Trust Tour with God Forbid And Death Angel.
I interviewed Ben (Drummer) and Laura Nichol (Screamer) back in march in Charlotte, NC. Everything seemed to be going well at that time. But we all know how things can change, especially on the road in a van. Check out the interview below.

If you saw the latest issue of Revolver Magazine then you saw their annual Hottest Chicks In Metal III feature. Revolver June 2008 Issue | The Hottest Chicks In Metal III

The June issue of Revolver featuring The Hottest Chicks In Metal Part 3 is on news stands now. I’ve had some issues with Revolver for the last year or so due to the fact that sometimes they just blow my mind when they feature some not at all metal bands on the cover or as the main story of the issue. With that said, I can honestly say that the last three issues have been pretty good.
This months feature The Hottest Chicks In Metal, starring Marta of Bleeding Through, Maria Brink of In This Moment, Karin Axelsson of Sonic …read more
