Scrap Metal Report December 15th 2009
December 15, 2008 by Scott
This time of year there is never a surplus of time for anyone. Besides the snail speed flow of report worthy metal news this week, time just hasn’t been on my side. To keep things short, here are some significant things that went on the Metal since Friday.
Machine Head’s Phil Demmel collapsed on stage again on Friday. This is the third time it’s happened and the second time it’s happened this year. Machine head has canceled the last tow shows on this leg of their tour and will be heading back top the states. Phil suffers from a rare …read more
Metal Martyr Best Live Shows Of 2008
December 9, 2008 by Scott
Metal Martyr Best Live Shows Of 2008. I’m going to break this down by single bands and not so much the tour or show name. I saw a good amount of shows this year. In fact I went to more shows just this year than I ever have in my whole life before before this year. This year has had some great shows come my way and a few I have had to travel a few hours for. Through some of these shows I’ve learned of bands and learned became a bigger fan of other bands. I’d say one …read more
No Talking Politics In School…WTF?
October 7, 2008 by Scott
So I was reading on Blabbermouth about this girl who wore the Machine Head T-shirt (Clenching The Fists Of Decent War T-shirt) in the picture to the right to school and was told to change it. Obviously this can be wrong in my opinion for a lot of reasons. But first read this (From Machine Head Forums):
A couple weeks ago I bought the war T-shirt from the machine head store and I got it in the mail yesterday and I wore it to school today. The shirt that says "war, lies, fear, change" on the back. Well, when …read more
Machine Head’s Phil Demmel Passes Out During Mayhem Fest Set
August 18, 2008 by Scott
Machine Head’s Phil Demmel passed out at last night’s Mayhem fest performance right towards the end of their set last night at The Nissan Pavilion in Virginia. It’s said that Phil is doing better and was severely dehydrated. he’ll be resting up for that last show at Darien Lake, NY, which is the last show of the Rockstar Mayhem Fest on August 19th.
I’m not trying to give a lesson in hydration here, but too much alcohol and not enough water in the sun and humidity can creep up on you out of nowhere. Dehydration can set in long before you …read more

Machinehead’s Robb Flynn On The Grammys, “Should We Have Won?…Controversially, Yes.”
Robb Flynn gave an update on Machinehead and the Grammys on Blabbermouth. Here is a short excerpt. Check out the full update at blabbermouth. This is a pretty good update from Flynn and he has some good stuff to say about the Grammy, Slayer and the direction Machinehead is going. The link is at the bottom.
“Five minutes after the ‘Best Metal Performance’ nomination was given to SLAYER, I got a text from Kerry King (who didn’t attend) that said, ‘I’ll take the Grammy… but I have no problem telling you that you guys should have won!’ Very cool and VERY …read more
Slayer Wins The Grammy Again | Metal Scene Officially Dubs Them “Not Metal” Anymore
February 11, 2008 by Scott
Slayer wins the Grammy for Best Metal Performance. Now it’s got all sorts of people on Blabbermouth arguing who should have won and even people going on to say that Slayer is not metal. One fool, probably the same douche that has been here a few times even went on to ask how Slayer won for “Metal” performance and then said “Death To False Metal“. WTF?
