Withered to Open Blackenedfest

Blackenedfest with Black Metal legends Mayhem is set to kick off on may 21st to June 15th. Swedish Black Metal veterans Marduk will be there as well along with Death-grinders Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation. Opening is Prosthetic records blackened death metal prospects Withered.

Withered come out of Atlanta Georgia and they are not an easy band to listen to at first, it’s an acquired taste, but once you get used to their sound, it’s hard not to listen and have a love/hate relationship with their music. Their latest release Folie Circulaire was released June 24th of last year.

Mayhem Cancels Mexico Shows Due To Swine Flu

Just when you thought a Norwegian Black Metal band would be afraid of nothing, Mayhem have been forced to cancel tour dates due to the outbreak and potential pandemic of swine flu.
All I can say is that the bird flu didn’t stop Watain from butchering pigeons and smearing the blood on themselves for a show.
Word is that they are going to try to reschedule. In the meantime they will still be headlining Blackened Fest with Marduk, Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation.

In Memory Of Celtic Frost

In 1996 Dwell Records released a tribute album to Celtic Frost titled In Memory Of Celtic Frost. Who knew some years later they would reunite just to disband (Sort of) again this year. The remaining band members say they are still a band, but can we really call them Celtic Frost without Thomas Gabriel Fischer?
