Slayer, Megadeth Team Up for American Carnage

Slayer. Megadeth. Two names synonymous with fierce, crunching power. Two bands whose histories are inevitably intertwined in defining the thrash/metal genre. Individually, their respective prowess and accomplishments are impressive; but together, they’re brutal and unstoppable. Megadeth and Slayer will join forces to co-headline “American Carnage,” the most blistering, the most explosive, and the most eagerly anticipated mega-tour of the winter – and you do not want to miss it.
“American Carnage” will kick off on January 18 in Seattle, WA for a 26-date trek across North America that will include the six Canadian dates postponed earlier this month. Tickets for …read more

Machine Head Announce Only U.S. Headline Show in 2009

Fresh off of main support dates with Metallica and a hugely successful run of major European festivals, Bay Area titans MACHINE HEAD announce a very special headline show at The Crazy Donkey in New York, in preparation for their run of Canadian Carnage dates with Slayer and Megadeth.  MACHINE HEAD plan on doing a full headlining set with production and a unique set list that promises to cover their impressive and controversial 15 year career.

In the wake of their Grammy-nominated album The Blackening, MACHINE HEAD faced harsh penalties for their lyrics, and shockingly, were banned from several Disney-owned …read more

Samples of all Megadeth ‘Endgame’ Tracks Available

Amazon.de now has 30 second audio samples of every track from Megadeth’s upcoming album Endgame, being released by Roadrunner Records on September 15th.

Frontman Dave Mustaine had the following to say:
“Thematically, I’ve never been known to be a silent bystander in a world that needs our participation. As more is revealed about our former President’s legacy, a little-known yet staggeringly frightening document which was signed into law, named ‘Endgame’, has been uncovered. The album ‘Endgame’ is the most energetic music offering I have penned in over a decade and is far more believable than knowing someone signed ‘Endgame’ — the document …read more

I can’t say that I blame him. This is an interesting read, especially when he mentions the alternate universe possibility of Dimebag Darrell and brother Vinnie Paul as guitarist and drummer for Megadeth.
“So yesterday I am doing an interview, the third in a day-full of interviews, which I am so weary of, and their “certain” questions, that it can turn the mood of an interview into complete …read more
