Metal…Not Radio Friendly

So lets look at a few things. Why isn’t metal as mainstream as most other genres of music? It is…just not on a mass basis. Why? Because if a metal band puts out a record, the radio only plays the “Radio-friendly” tracks. Stone Sour for example. Stone Sour’s Come What(ever) may was a great record. 30-30-150, Zzyxx Road, Scars, Reborn, Cardiff? All Great songs, but what did they play on the radio? Through The Glass and Silly World. Modern Rock Is Dead.

In my opinion, modern rock as we know it is dead. There are very few credible bands these days in the scene to keep it alive. Just about any rock station you listen to is either playing Nickelback, jet, classic rock hits and 80’s and 90’s stuff. There is no new bands these days that are making an impact.
Bottom line to me is that rock is dead. Rock is boring. Rock hit it’s all time high and can not evolve anymore. If it did evolve it wouldnt be rock anymore. Where can rock go…nowhere. It’s literally a flatline of mediocre …read more
