The outfit’s fifth studio release, Blackheart Revolution is a mesmerizing blend of infectious riffs and riotous overtures that lay the sexually-charged foundation for frontwoman Gen, the master of turbo-charged ceremonies and erotic rituals. The Genitorturers live spectacle returns to the road October 24, with the first leg of dates running through November (itinerary below).

“We wanted to make a big rock record that translates the same excitement I felt when I heard AC/DC’s Highway to Hell for the first time, combined with the dark intrigue of Alice Cooper’s Welcome to My Nightmare,” says Gen of the new release. “We wanted something that shakes the walls, grabs you by the balls, and scares you a bit in the process!”

Mission accomplished, as Blackheart Revolution combines the band’s signature, genre-bending style of aggressive rock, seductive metal and underground electric pop. Co-Produced by David “Evil D” Vincent [Morbid Angel] and Scott Humphrey [Motley Crue, Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne], the album is a roller coaster ride of musical twists, sonic turns and reckless abandon.

A product of Orlando, Florida’s musical underbelly, what Genitorturers lack in wholesome family fun, they make up for in their celebration of the unspeakable, embracing and exploring our conservative culture’s taboos. They caught the ear (and eye) of legendary music industry magnate Miles Copeland, who signed the band to their first deal on his I.R.S. label, where they joined the ranks of fellow Copeland signings Gary Numan, The Go-Gos and R.E.M.

The lead single from Blackheart Revolution, “Cum Junkie,” is currently available via digital release, as well as in limited-edition, 7-inch vinyl. The collectible physical release will be the first in a series of vinyl singles to be released from the album, each complete with expansive packaging and uncensored artistic detail.

From their beginnings as upstart mavericks, to their current status as veteran iconoclasts, the only boundaries the Genitorturers know are the boundaries that they shatter.

Carrie Underwood covered Motley Crue’s Home Sweet Home for the exit song on America Idol according to MTV.com. Home Sweet Home came off of Theater Of Pain and was the best track on that album. Probably my all time favorite Motley Crue song. Carrie Undewood’s cover of it is actually pretty good. Nothing I would pay for or listen to on a regular basis, but she does an honorable job singing it. Kind of gives it have a slight country tone to it. And hey, it’s better than Lil’ Wayne trying to be a rock star.

The box set will come bound in leather as so many Motley Crue fans are, and will be called Journals Of The Damned. Here are more details (from Sneak Attack media):

Motley Crue announced today that Eleven Seven Music/Motley Records will release vinyl configurations of their current hit album Saints of Los Angeles along with their first five classic studio albums, Too Fast For Love (1981); Shout at the Devil (1983); Theatre of Pain (1985); Girls, Girls, Girls (1987) and Dr. Feelgood (1989) on Tuesday, November 25. Each album is pressed on high quality 180 gram vinyl and cut from the original analog master tapes.
To mark this occasion, Mötley Crüe is releasing a limited edition leather box set, Journals Of The Damned, containing all six vinyl releases. Limited to a sales run of 500, each set is individually numbered and also contains a Shout At the Devil Era lithograph signed by all four members of the band. The sets are available exclusively for order at www.motley.com.

Nikki Sixx had this to say about the release:

”I remember opening up my first vinyl and seeing the incredible artwork it had. There’s nothing like it,” said Nikki Sixx. “You also get that true gritty sound on vinyl that really makes a rock record sound great which CD’s can never achieve. With the current resurgence of vinyl, it came at a perfect time for us to open up the next generation of rock fans to what they’ve been missing out on.”

All this can be yours…if you have 500 bucks. That’s right, $500.00. I love vinyl, but DAYAM!!!

Order Yours here…or just look at it.

Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee has tried many things outside of Motley Crue to include being a turn-table spinning DJ. Some may remember that one acoustic song “Hold Me Down“, which was kind of catchy but still…not very good. You may also recall Tommy Lee trying to jump in to the nu-metal scene with his Methods Of Mayhem and their single “Get Naked” (Video Below).

According to an interview conducted by Hellena Mihailidou of Metalzone.gr, a Greek metal site, Tommy is up to no good again with plans of a new Methods Of Mayhem album.

Metalzone: Personal plans?
Tommy: I am working on a new Methods Of Mayhem record and hopefully we’ll get that thing done by May or June and go on Crue fest

I think I speak for about 99% of the metal/rock community when I say: Please Tommy, tell me…What did we ever do to you to deserve this?

Or maybe where you’re going to get gas money to get back and fourth from work after school for the rest of the week, after you blew your paycheck on CD’s/Tapes and cigarettes/pot or whatever. Back when a cd didn’t cost much more than 15 bucks, cigarettes were about $1.70 a pack, gas wasn’t much more than a buck a gallon and a dime-bag was a decent amount of weed. Those were the days. But the times have changed, prices for any one of those is much higher and you grow out of certain things…but the videos remain.

Bet you though I forgot about this new feature again like I did last week. Hell you probably forgot about it too. I’m reaching back into some old school metal here. Everything pre-1994. I’m sure you’ve probably seen them all or at least heard the songs, but their still fun to watch, especially the cheesy Holy Wars video. Enjoy.

Time for another quick Scrap Metal Report. I went to see the Brooklyn, NY based band Early man last night so I’m kind of tired after getting home at 1 am and getting up for work at 6am. You’ll see the results of that here in a bit. Let’s get started so maybe IO can get a good night’s sleep. Sleep? Who needs that, right? I do. It’s going to be a long day Friday at Mayhem Fest and If I don’t catch up a little tonight I’ll be draggin’ ass in Virgina Beach.

There is a new Ozzy impersonator on the TV show America’s Got Talent. It was such a convincing resemblance that Sharon Osbourne wanted him to pull down his pants so she could make sure it wasn’t really Ozzy, but then she remembered that she was wearing Ozzy pants so it could not have been him.

The Dio-era Black Sabbath: Rules Of Hell box set has sold just over 2600 copies in it’s first week. Not too shabby.

Christian Metalcore band War Of Ages also sold around 2600 copies or Arise And Conquer in it’s first week. That’s pretty good for the first week sales of a lesser known band of that genre. I bought a copy last week. I dig it. It’s not anything epic, but it’s a good metalcore album.

The ‘Nuge will be a special guest on Chris Angel Mindfreak. Chris is going to attempt to change Ted’s redneck ways…ok, Teddy’s going to shoot an arrow from a crossbow at Chris Angel and Chris is going to try to catch it. Whoop-dee-friggin’ doo! I hope he fails…but we know he won’t because he’s such a super-dooper magical dude.

Kreator have posted a studio report and pictures here

Motley Crue are supposed to make another ‘Important’ announcement in L.A. at noon tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas what it is?

Andreas Kisser will release his solo album entitle Hubris I & II on October 6th via Mascot Records. I’m eager to hear what that’s going to sound like. I’ve always like Andreas even post Max-Sepultura.

Check out new Helloween video footage and photos of them at the Rockin’ Field Festival in Milan Italy from July 26th here.

Sebastian Bach says…Anyone really give a shit about Sebastian Bach here?

All Shall Perish have posted two new songs from their upcoming release Awaken The Dreamers on their Myspace.

Metal Shavings will now be called “The Scrap Metal Report” because I think it sounds cooler and I run this show so I can do that kind of stuff. I’ll come up with a logo later. If you’re not familiar with Metal Shavings, it’s basically a breakdown of news events in metal compiled into a list and summarized.

Lamb Of Godsaid no to an offer from Metallica to be an opening act for them following the release of their upcoming Death Magnetic. Lamb Of God said it was due to them getting back in the studio to record their next album. Perhaps they had this time scheduled and don’t want to or can’t reschedule with the same producer or maybe it’s just because they think they are better than being an opening act even for Metallica. I think it’s the latter and I would agree with them. Look for their follow up to 2006’s Sacrament sometime in ‘09.

Word has it that Phil Anselmo is writing an autobiography. Seem this guy has a lot more time to do constructive things now that he’s sober. It’s amazing what you accomplish when your not sleeping in your own vomit. Good for you, Phil….but you’re still a tool.

Green Jello…jelly, jello..whatever. Did you know they were on a “Come Back” tour? Me neither, but apparently they have postponed the last two weeks of it to get in the studio to record an album that they will not release through a label but will sell at shows and will be available for purchase directly through their website. They said record labels take too much money for doing so little and they can profit and fund what they do much better by selling it themselves. This is totally understandable. Comeback tour?…seriously?

Russia doesn’t like emo kids any more than the rest of us. In an attempt to clean up society and be a cooler country, Russia is trying to pass a bill to ban kids from wearing emo an goth attire in public. Can you blame them? This will also cut down on the serious vision problems most emo kids have due to one eye being used much less than the other, cutting optometry cost through out the country and hairdressers can now charge full price for a full haircut.

Arsis are beating off to a new drummer…wait, that’s not right. Arsis HAVE a new drummer. Sorry, read the article wrong. Shawn Priestwill be filling the empty thrown and might become a permanent member.

July 25th marked Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All25th Anniversary. Damn I’m feeling old right about now. Hard to believe it’s been that long.

If you like Walls Of Jericho you can hear their entire new album online here before you buy it. It comes out today on Trustkill Records…so they probably won’t see a dime for it.

Static X plan on releasing a Cannibal Killers Live DVD. The price of hairspray must be going up.

Metalsucks.netcontributor and crime novel author, Corey Mitchell recently went to <strike>Crap Fest</strike> Crue Fest and wrote an extensive review of it. He says Motley Crue still knows how to rock and Buck Cherry suck. Check out his review: Hurricane Motley Storms Through Texas

One last thing. On July 19th MetalMartyr.com turned 1 year old! It’s been a fast and ever climbing ride and I couldn’t have done it without all the dedicated (and non-didicated) readers. I know I get a lot of one stops and silent readers that never comment, but I know you’re there. Thanks for being a reader of Metalmartyr.com. You guys kick ass! The lamb of God contests ends friday and I’ll announce a winner(s) soon after. Look for a bigger contest next month!

That pretty much sums it up for now. There may be a few updates throughout the day. I’m going to a show tonight, so you’ll hear about that tommorow. ’til them…
