J. Mann On To Make Appearance With Mushroomhead

J. Mann, the former singer of Cleveland based Mushroomhead recently spoke to D.X. Ferris (Who wrote the Slayer: Reign In Blood 33 1/3 paperback) of The Cleveland Scene in an extensive interview and history of Jason Popson (J.Mann’s real name). Popson is currently working with his project 216  and there may be a joint tour with Mushroomhead that could see J. Mann working with the band again.
If the (216) deal comes together, Mann could find himself riding with Mushroomhead much more often. Another joint tour would be a no-brainer. If that happens, it’s not a stretch that he could …read more

Mushroomhead Show Tonight

Mushroomhead Show Tonight

I’m going to see Mushroomhead this weekend in Fayetteville, NC. I’m excited because this is the first time I’ve been able to see them since I became a fan from XX. Although the new album Savior Sorrow from 2006 is a bit different than the last two, it’s still awesome and It should be a pretty fun show. I’m also hoping to get an interview before the show with Jeffrey Nothing, although I haven’t got that confirmed yet.

Mushroomhead: Solitaire Unraveling Video

MushroomHead won last years MTV video of the year in the Metal Category with their Video for 12 Hundred from the most recent release Savior Sorrow. Back when I first got into this band I had never heard of them before until after I heard Slipknot and later heard that some band from Cleveland Ohio was claiming that they had been copied by Slipknot. Honestly, who cares? Both band kick ass and are distinctly different in their sound. Solitaire Unraveling was the first song I heard from Mushroomhead and immediately began a hunt for XX, their first mainstream release on …read more

If I was to recommend some bands the a metal newcomer that is new to the music and has had his/her interest peaked by a band or two, I would recommend the basics. The basics being like I said the “staple food” of a head banger. Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest Iron Maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Danzig, etc., etc. However I would also recommend some not metal artists Like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd just to give the person …read more
