Last night I went to check out local band The Ruin not too far from my house. It started out kind of a strange night but ended up being pretty cool. When I expected to go to Goldsboro, NC to watch them play I really didn’t expect it to be out in the country. But when I map-quested it I had a feeling that that’s where I was headed.

Kill Whitney Dead, Carnifex, The Demonstration, Dance Club Massacre and Salt The Wound were in Raleigh, NC last night kicking off their tour. The bands I really went there to see was The Demonstration and Salt The Wound. I got there kind of late towards the ass end of Salt The Wound’s set. They sounded good. The only thing I didn’t care for and this is something that is a person preference of mine is that I don’t like when distortion effects are used on the vocals. However I understand that if that’s your thing then roll with it.

When you think of Metal and local scenes one of the last states that probably would ever come to mind is North Carolina. Most people when they think of North Carolina think of country music, rednecks and Nascar. While we do have all three of those things here, we also have a lot of kick ass Metal and Hardcore bands.
