This months feature The Hottest Chicks In Metal, starring Marta of Bleeding Through, Maria Brink of In This Moment, Karin Axelsson of Sonic Sydicate, Kristen Randall of Winds Of Plague, Laura Nichol of Light This City, Lennon Murphy of Devil’s Gift, Lennon and lastly L.A. Ink’s Kat Von D. You may be asking “Why is Kat Von D there? She’s not metal.”, Yeah, me too. But she’s got a lot of tattoos, listens to a lot of H.I.M. and is dating Nikki Sixx so that must make her metal, right? All very attractive and intelligent ladies. I wish I could scan and post some photos but image use policies are very strict on our Blog network, sorry. Moving on to the rest of the issue.

There is a great write up on Iron Maiden and the Somewhere Back In Time Tour and Ed Force One. Testament talks about Formation Of Damnation and what led up to it and In Flames talks about the evolution of In Flames with their recent release A Sense Of Purpose. Soilent Green talks about their bad luck in the past few years with Katrina devastating their home town of New Orleans and their van crash in 2001. Those are about the highlights of this issue. EIC, Tom Beaujour talks about the main reason why Revolver does The Hottest Chicks In Metal issue every year and he is pretty blunt about it when he says because “we move a lot of unit”. Can’t blame them for that. Plus it’s always nice to see some of our favorite female metal stars looking sexy instead of screaming or headbanging…even though I’m sure there are people that find that aspect sexy, and that’s cool too.

So if you have $4.99 to spend and can stomach the usual crap like Atreyu and a bit about the garbage that’s infesting Taste Of Chaos this year then pick up June’s Revolver issue.

Add “record label president” to the Nikki Sixx resume, as the Motley Crue/Sixx: A.M. bassist steps in as the new chief of Eleven Seven Records. Sixx is stoked at the opportunity, and is a hands-on label executive, working with bands in the studio and in plotting everything from their image to their touring.

“I find it very interesting to take the artist’s craft, the art, the music, the image, and get it out there,” he says. “It comes under the heading of ‘record company president,’ but it’s a little more than that.” Here Sixx, talks with Billboard about his newest gig, dirty rock’n'roll, and what’s up with the Crue.

“Working with bands in the studio and in plotting everything from their image to touring”…This should be interesting.

Let’s start with Kanye West. Last year he says some stupid remark about George Bush hating black people because New Orleans didn’t get help that it needed. Last time I checked there were white people in NOLA too. Both upper and lower class. Everyone there suffered, don’t be such an ass. Next Kanye’s mother dies. Millions of mothers have died and millions more will die. His mom is not the first and won’t be the last. So to the entire world I say this. GET OVER IT, He’s the one that should be grieving. You television pasted rejects need to stop crying like it was your own mother. Yours will die someday too and the world won’t be mourning her by your side.

Nikki Sixx is suddenly an inspiration to tweekers everywhere. He almost dies from a stupid addiction, writes a book and BAM! He’s suddenly the poster child for idiotic addicts “overcoming”. Once again…he’s not the first he won’t be the last heroin addict to clean up. I quit smoking last January and they say nicotine is more addictive that any drug out there. Maybe I can write a book called The Newport Diaries and change the world one puffer at a time! You’re almost 50 dude…time to stop teasing the hair and wearing eye liner.

Amy Winehouse…oh Amy, you’re such a mess and people love you. I don’t know why. She’s a mediocre singer in my opinion. She wears too much make-up and causes too much drama, yet she’s in the headlines everyday whether it’s drugs or battery on her obviously and equally screwed up husband/ boyfriend or whatever he is. She’s like Courtney love and Britney Spears rolled into one, minus the murdered Kurt Cobain. I think I hear the methadone clinic calling. By the way, heroine addiction is NOT a handicap, Being a quadrapeligic is a handicap. Sticking needles in your arm cause you’re too stupid not to is NOT! Speaking of Britney…

Oh Britney. WTF?!!??!? Finally the Britney bomb has fizzled out and it took yet another overhyped cd release “comeback” with the name Blackout to bring the ho-train to a screaming stop. The drama has settled a bit but we still have another stupid Britney pictured in another stupid hat. You’re not a good dancer, you’re not a good singer. You had your time, now STFU and move on and do something you’re good at…be a parent. Oh wait…you’re no good at that either! Whoever thought K-fed would look this good right now?

So there you have it. I feel much better now that I have verbally bashed a few people that have way too much money to be acting so stupid and getting so much publicity. Now I can go back to being Mr. Nice Guy…yeah right!

What part of Solo Careers and Motley Crue Members just don’t mix, don’t you understand. Vince Neil should have told you…it doesn’t work. Tommy Lee should have told you three time, (Mothers Of Mayhem…pppbbbbbbbb! Tommy Lee…ppppbbbbb!, Supernova…ppppbbbb.) It doesn’t work. If Mick Mars had a solo career it’s obvious that it didn’t work cause I haven’t heard of his yet..perhaps he’s the only one that figured that algorithm out. But it just may have been the fact that his bone disorder kept him from pursuing a dead end solo career. I don’t know. Brides of destruction sucked, that should have been Sixx’s first clue. Even Motley Crue with a new singer failed, we all know that!

Sixx A.M. Is not as bad as I imagined it was going to be…but it was still bad. So I say, stick to what works. Motley Crue works. Even if your touring doing all the old shit. Its still better than dumping a boatload of money into a solo career that goes nowhere. Sure sometimes you have to take risks in life, but at the same time you need to learn from others downfalls. I give you a big fat valley girl HELLOOOO!

To the media thats giving him all this coverage. I guess its cool to flaunt addicts these days because addiction sells. Dave Mustaine had a heroin addiction for year and years that he wasn’t proud of it and when he finally kicked it he didn’t have a press conference. He may have written a few songs about it but in no way was he proud of it. Most people that have addictions just want to put it behind them and tear that chapter out of their book of life, not cash in on it. Grow up, your 49 years old, for christ sake! There are a million people out there that have kicked addiction. Should we give them a book deal? Oh thats right, we only give celebrity addicts book deals because that makes things interesting. Does it? I had a friend that turned himself and his wife into heroin addicts and ended up losing custody of their child because of it and then he died from an overdose. Did I find that interesting? No, in fact I don’t think he would have wanted it publicized, but his wife is sober as far as I know and she has custody of their daughter. It’s real…not real TV!

They should just write a new book about the whole band called “Addicts, Murderers, and Porn Stars”. Its sad what sells these days…and by the way…your hair cut is as bad as your record!
