So I’ve said in the past that I couldn’t really get into The Black Dahlia Murder. I have heard nothing but great things about them from several people and earlier in the week I made a comment that perhaps I will just buy their latest CD, Nocturnal, and force feed myself something that I really wasn’t diggin before. The same thing happened the first few times I hear Lamb Of God. I just couldn’t grasp the vocals right off the line.

My taste in vocals has changed a lot in the last year though. Where I used to dig some death metal style vocals a long time ago, I kind of grew out of for a while. Then I started listening to more metal and found myself really liking stuff that I wouldn’t have a few years ago. Hell, a lot of the music that I have called garbage before, I am listening to now…with the exception of The Mars Volta and Avenged Sevenfold. I still don’t like that shit! In short, I bought Nocturnal today and started to give it a listen. However it was at the same time that I bought that Carcass Reissue that I mentioned a bit ago, so my priorities were towards Carcass at the moment. I’ll give it a good listen tomorrow and we’ll see if I still feel the same as before or if my feelings for The Black Dahlia Murder have changed…we’ll see.
