Antimusic reported that Sharon Osbourne said in an interview that Ozfest will return next year as it did in the past and she wants AC/DC to open. That will be interesting…how the hell does she plan on paying for that gig. AC/DC aren’t exactly cheap act to book, I don’t care how old they are. You can read Antimusic’s take on it here

There is more rumors of a Slayer retirement. We heard this awhile back, but this time it sounds much more inevitable. in This Interview at Thrashhits.com, Tommy Araya says “Yeah. Let’s put it this way, this is the final record of our commitment with Rick Rubin.” But that leaves an open end. Does this mean the last Slayer record or just the last one with Rick Ruben? Maybe they will try different ventures.

Id there a Metallica track listing for Death Magnetic? It appears so and there is actually going to be an Unforgiven III. But now it’s kind of up in the air or maybe someone leaked some shit they were not supposed to. Blabbermouth first reported this and not it looks as if the source site has taken down the announcement…WTF?

Kataklysm recently announced a North American Tour. I can only hope they play in some venue near me but I can’t get my hopes up. If you haven’t heard the entire Prevail album, buy it, borrow it burn it, whatever…it’s brutal, it rips, it kills…ok, can’t think of any other metal sounding expressions to describe this album…oh wait…IT SLAYS!!

WWMIH shows an enormous amount of concert footage from arena headlining tour, Unholy Alliance tour, Ozfest and Gigantour, and behind the scenes footage through the documentary section on disc one. There is also full length live footage from the previously mentioned tours. On disc two you get The Making Of Sacrament, the entire Download Fest performance and behind the scenes of the Redneck Video as well as the full video.

You get all the fun stupidity of L.O.G. on tour in Walk With Me, and you also get a short look into the personal lives of the band members…with the exception of Chris Adler, who it seems has no personal life besides being an unbelievable drummer. Another thing I really like about this is that with the making of Sacrament among other times in the dvd, you get to see just how great L.O.G. are as musicians. Willie and Mark are both really great guitar players whether they down tune or not. It doesn’t matter, the more you watch and listen to them play throughout the dvd you get to see just how really good they are at what they do. Although the DVD seems extremely long (whereas I didn’t want Killadelphia to end), it’s fun every second of it and I highly recommend it. And if you just don’t feel like buying it or you don’t have the cash, then enter my contest for a chance to win a copy!

I saw Slayer at The 9:30 Club in D.C. back in 97 during the Diabulos In Musica tour. System Of A Down opened the show with Clutch following…it was a long wait through System Of A Down because I had never heard of them before and their live show was absolutely excruciating. Clutch was pretty cool but when you have 500 or more people waiting anxiously to see Slayer your kind of screwed no matter who you are. Imagine your in a band going on before Slayer and while your an established band everyone in the venue is screaming “Slayer-Slayer-Slayer” before you even get through your first song.

Not only was this a great show because it was Slayer but I got to go to signing session up in Baltimore before the show and got one of my prized possessions autographed by the band. I have a copy of ‘Til Death Do Us Part, a studio rehearsal session recordings from 1984 on vinyl from Jester Productions that I found in a record store in Woodbridge Virginia that actually sold records and cassettes. As far as I know and from what the sleeve says there are only 500 of these out there and I got Slayer to sign the back of it. Unfortunately this was back in 97 and Paul Bostaph was the current drummer and while he is a great drummer, Dave is the one in the picture from ‘84 so he signed off to the side. Maybe one day I’ll get to see Slayer again and get Dave Lombardo to sign it. That would allow me to die happy.

You know, Ozzy’s music is kinda heavy…but I don’t ever see any real good mosh pits at Ozzy shows…

Anyway, here is the story from the Sioux City Journal as reported by Blabbermouth.net:

“Travis Coleman of SiouxCityJournal.com reports that a teen was tased and arrested after allegedly fighting with officers during the OZZY OSBOURNE concert at Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa Sunday (November 4).

The 16-year-old Sioux City boy was allegedly trying to start a mosh pit near the end of the show when security called Sioux City police to help remove the boy, said Lt. Marti Reilly.

The three police officers tried to take hold of the boy, who was allegedly swinging his arms and being aggressive, Reilly said. After the officers told him to stop resisting and he refused, the boy was tased. One officer was slightly injured, Reilly said.

The boy was charged with misdemeanor counts of interference with official acts, failure to obey a police officer and assault on a police officer. ”

The so called Prince Of Darkness has received a lot of press this year as far as Ozzfest and “Bad” media goes. With everything from fans dying at concerts, under-age drinking busts, and sting operations using his name. The question here is…does it really matter? It’s not the first time Ozzy has been the target of bad publicity and it won’t be the last.
