Rock Of Love Whore School/Fight Club
December 15, 2008 by Scott
The Rock Of Love Charm School has got to be one of the most pathetic “Reality” shows on television, right up there with “The Hills” and a handful of other shows where people publicly exploit their tattered lives for money. You’d think that after 13 years or however long this craze has been going on that people would get tired of reality shows. Sadly people thrive off of watching reality TV because it makes them feel better about their own crappy lives.
Metal Hammer is reporting that according to TMZ that Sharon allegedly attacked one of the Rock Of Love: …read more
Al Jourgensen Discusses The End Of Ministry In MP3.com Video Interview
April 28, 2008 by Scott
Ministry head honcho Al Jourgensen recently sat down for a lengthy video interview with MP3.com. Filmed in Al’s hotel room on the eve of the band’s final performance in San Francisco, the chat centers on the end of Jourgensen’s long-running band, and what, exactly, he plans to fill his time with post-Ministry. Aside from a cameo from Al’s dogs, Ozzy and Lemmy, the interview features some typically candid Bush bashing, and plenty of discussion about Jourgensen and company’s recently released Cover Up collection, and the forthcoming Revolting Cocks record.
Metal / Hard Rock Portion Of Grammy’s Webcast
The Metal and Hard Rock segments of The Grammy’s never get aired on tv. Honestly I’m sure that none of you, nor me feels like sitting through all the other B.S. in the meantime to see which artist that was nominated gets the damn awards. If you want to see who wins the metal and/or hard rock grammy you can tune in via webcast. Details and nomination info after the fold.

I have dumped a bunch of money into CDs this past year, probably more than I have in a long time. I have discovered and re-discovered bands that I’ve been missing out on and was even introduced to new music by record labels that sent me CDs to review (Thanks Bob at Prosthetic and Taylor at Dwell). While most of these albums didn’t come out in 2007, 2007 was the year I bought them and therefore; the first list will be my Favorite Buys Of 2007. The second list is a short one. It’s my favorite Debut records of 2007. …read more
Office Days Re-Revisited
Ok, so you guys saw my Holiday office party by invitation only list, well the other music channels at b5 did it as well. Check out who some of the others invited. They may not be Metal (Some of them are), but they are interesting.
Bruce At Our Digital Music said he’d invite Robert Plant so he could get the inside scoop on Zeppelin.
Crooner Culture’s Lara has some classic crooners…and Marlyn Monroe…grrrrowwwwl! (the Kennedy’s had her killed)
Sammi at 52 Bands has invited Tenacious D. That fat, bald dude, Kyle, rocks on guitar!
British Invasion: Black Sabbath
November 12, 2007 by Scott
I figured I’d start the British Invasion week out with the band most call the pioneers of Heavy Metal. Honestly, what can I say about Black Sabbath that hasn’t already been said.
Black Sabbath originated out of Birmingham England in 1968 as a blues and rock band under the names Polka Tulk Blues Company and Earth. Later changing their name to Black Sabbath after Tony Iommi wrote a song called the aforementioned name when confused with another local band called Earth.
This is where I’m going to stop this history…because if you don’t know the history of the band then you either …read more
Ozzy Worried About His Reputation?
November 2, 2007 by Scott
If you haven’t already heard, a local county sheriff in Fargo, North Dakota set up a sting operation where they sent out invites to a bunch of deadbeat dads and people who had warrants out on them. The invite was from a fake promo company, created by the sheriffs dept. inviting the people to come to a pre-show party for Ozzy. When they got there, they were promptly hand cuffed and carted off to jail. Some people call it “lazy” cop work, but I call it brilliant! If you can’t find the criminals, let the criminals find you.
Anyway, Ozzy didn’t like …read more

I’ve posted quite a bit this month and good old Metal Shavings has been neglected…frankly because there hasn’t been in my opinion, been any real good news in metal…a few tid bits here and there but nothing on a large scale lately. Anyway I’ve compiled a few things.
