Revolver’s Graphic Violence

August 28, 2008 by Scott

Cattle decapitation HUmanure Revolver Magazine’s October issue had a segment called “Graphic Violence“. It featured album covers that were controversial due to graphic images of evil, death, sex, etc. They had some really good picks of some great albums. A few included are Pantera’s original concept for Far Beyond Driven, Nashville Pussy’s Let Them Eat Pussy album, Cannibal CorpseButchered At Birth as well as Deicide’s Once Upon The Cross. Some of them were not really graphic as to having a sexual or image of death or gore, but some being images of evil such as Mercyful Fate’s classic Don’t Break The Oath, Iron Maiden’s The Number Of The Beast and Venom’s Welcome To Hell. You can check out some of the ones they say they couldn’t show in the magazine. Some of them are gory, some just downright foul and one (The Scorpions’ Virgin Killer) could be considered child pornography these days. Here are a few of my favorites. August 25, 2008 by Scott

Unfortunately I can’t show you the pictures here(All I can show it a screen shot), but artist Sean Pryor was hired to draw up a Slipknot sketch for the reviews section in Revolver. The picture is said to be a depiction of the band as if they were in a scene from the movie Hostel. If you want to know and see a better pic, check out the blog article over at Revolvermag.com. I’ll be running to pic up All Hope Is Gone in the morning, but If you want to read a review, check out Metalsucks.net. ‘Axl Rosenburg’ gave it a pretty good review over there.

Revolver June 2008 Issue | The Hottest Chicks In Metal III

April 27, 2008 by Scott

revolverchikc3 The June issue of Revolver featuring The Hottest Chicks In Metal Part 3 is on news stands now. I’ve had some issues with Revolver for the last year or so due to the fact that sometimes they just blow my mind when they feature some not at all metal bands on the cover or as the main story of the issue. With that said, I can honestly say that the last three issues have been pretty good.

This months feature The Hottest Chicks In Metal, starring Marta of Bleeding Through, Maria Brink of In This Moment, Karin Axelsson of Sonic Sydicate, Kristen Randall of Winds Of Plague, Laura Nichol of Light This City, Lennon Murphy of Devil’s Gift, Lennon and lastly L.A. Ink’s Kat Von D. You may be asking “Why is Kat Von D there? She’s not metal.”, Yeah, me too. But she’s got a lot of tattoos, listens to a lot of H.I.M. and is dating Nikki Sixx so that must make her metal, right? All very attractive and intelligent ladies. I wish I could scan and post some photos but image use policies are very strict on our Blog network, sorry. Moving on to the rest of the issue.
